I recently attended a professional development workshop titled "Starting Points in Art for Children with Developmental Delays."

This enriching experience provided invaluable insights into how art can be used as a powerful tool for engagement and expression among children with varying developmental needs.

The workshop emphasized hands-on activities that promote creativity while fostering essential skills such as fine motor development, emotional expression, and social interaction. Each session felt like a form of mindful meditation, allowing educators to connect deeply with the material and reflect on their practice.

I left the workshop feeling inspired and equipped with practical strategies to implement in my classroom. I am excited to apply these concepts and techniques to support the children in my care, enhancing their learning experiences through art. The workshop reinforced the importance of providing inclusive and supportive environments that celebrate each child's unique abilities.
Thank you so much Michelle at Knox Council for organising this event.

I'm truly touched this morning with one of my families' thoughtful Diwali gift and kind words.
Knowing that they see me as a positive part of their child's life means so much to me.
Patent's appreciation and trust in me to look after their child like a second mum is a wonderful blessing that I deeply cherish.

This made Diwali even more special. I'm so grateful to be part of children's journey, and I look forward to continuing to support and care for children as they grow and thrive.

Wishing all families out there a joyous and prosperous Diwali. May you be blessed all the time!!

HAPPY DIWALI!!!
Diwali, also known as the "Festival of Lights," is a major Hindu festival celebrated with great enthusiasm in India and by people worldwide. Diwali symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Celebrations typically last for five days, with the main day of Diwali, known as Lakshmi Puja or Deepavali, being the most significant. Each day has its own rituals and significance.

Key Aspects of Diwali
Spiritual Meaning: Diwali marks the return of Lord Rama to his kingdom after 14 years of exile and his victory over the demon king Ravana. It’s also associated with other deities, like Goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth, who is worshipped for prosperity.

Rituals and Traditions:

Lighting Diyas and Lanterns: Homes and streets are decorated with oil lamps (diyas) and colorful lights to symbolize the victory of light over darkness.
Fireworks: People light fireworks to celebrate and ward off evil spirits.
Rangoli: Decorative patterns are made on the ground using colored powders, flowers, or rice.

Nature play promotes health benefits, including cognitive, social and emotional development, and it builds resilience and creativity as well. Experiences in nature as a child also leads to environmental awarenes.

Today children made their own little bracelets and crowns using wild flowers. From looking for flowers, leaves and then chasing butterflies while feeling coldness of morning breeze to till they finishes their cool looking art work they kept themselves very busy. Sharing ideas, helping each other, talking about what they are doing, cheering for each others outcome, look into different colors etc help children develop their skills.

Creating learning oppertunities gives children a lot than we think. They learn through play, it helps them develop their imagination skills, gain new ideas, learn new words etc. Having a blessing of beautiful weather today, my little champions are having so much fun making "Withes's brew"out in the backyard. It's Halloween!!!
