Excursion experience at Wyndham Vale Montessori Childcare-Buffalo Campus!
As an extension to Road Safety topic the educators invite the Children to a Bike Excursion in our car park.
The educator explained to the children about the road safety. The children were all very interactive talking about the road safety. Then the children went out to do the bikes/scooters excursions. They listened to the instructions and they took turn to use the 'road'. The children learned to follow the signal/arrow and they learned about the roundabouts and u-turn. After that, the children did free riding, some of the children needed reminders to ride their scooters/bikes slowly (they tend to do speeding). After riding around happily, the children learned about how to cross the road using the zebra cross. The children stopped on the side of the road and they got off their bikes/scooters. They waited for the lollipop lady to give signal (blew whistle) to cross the road. The children learned that they could not riding their bikes/scooters on the zebra cross, instead they needed to walk and pushed their bikes/scooters. The educators asked the children to cross the road without their bikes/scooters, as the children did not want to get off from their bikes, so the educator asked them to park their bikes/scooters first then they crossed the road.
We were so lucky to have our two kinders who did great job by demonstrating how to follow the signs, when to stop, how to go around the round about etc, lots of FUN!
Great learning experience for everyone!
