Yesterday we were joined by Tommy Tucker and Silly Milly from Junkyard Beats

They got Sun Room and Forest Room involved with some interactive beats. The Children learned how you can make music using everyday items, even our bodies can make music! Everyone had so much fun as they followed the beatz, pace and volume! Everyone had a turn to bang on the bucket drums.

Sun Room also had their very own Junkyard beats music wall installed and the children are already loving creating their own music 🪘🪘

A big thank you to all the families and educators who came dressed up, we loved all of your efforts. It has been a joyous week filled with playfulness and lots of superheroes. Book Week is always a fun one and we appreciate when everybody gets into the spirit!

On Tuesday we had Sarah from About Science visit and share all her knowledge around the diverse areas of science for our 3 and 4 year old Kinder groups.

The children had the opportunity to become little scientists for a day, learning all about magnetism, electricity, chemistry, forces, light, colour, and mini beasts through interactive table activities! They even got to do their own experiments to explore chemicals.
Thank you Sarah for inspiring the children just in time for Science week next week 🔬⚗🦠🧫🧪😊

Our Kinder children in the Forest and Field Rooms have been getting creative while helping spruce up our Kitchen Menu display with some colourful winter vegetables. 🥕🥒
The Field Room worked hard decorating the menu sign, while the Forest Room designed some beautifully illustrated vegetables, including pumpkins, carrots and capsicums!
Chef Julia also received a lovely surprise, a beautiful new portrait so we won't forget who's behind all our delicious meals. Of course, they didn't forget to include her apron! 👩‍🍳💚

On Tuesday, 23rd June, we were honoured to welcome musical artist Ganga Giri to Haven for a special immersive sound experience.
Ganga explained how he used the didgeridoo to connect with the land, animals, and nature. He discussed Bunjil the Eagle, the Creator Spirit and he children enthusiastically joined in the songs, rhythmic dances, and interactive activities, making it a joyful and engaging experience for all.
Being outdoors while listening to the sounds of the didgeridoo created a truly memorable atmosphere. We are grateful to Ganga Giri for sharing his culture, stories, and music with us.

✨More from Forest Room during Reconciliation Week, the children enjoyed the story *Where is Galah?* and were inspired to create their own Galah. From drawing individual designs to working together on a large collaborative artwork, the children used feathers, sequins, pom poms, glitter, and more to bring their colourful Galah to life. What a wonderful display of creativity and teamwork! ✨
