Today we celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival (also known as the Duanwu Festival), an ancient traditional holiday celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.During the celebration, we watched a story about boats and learned about the types of boats people used long ago. Children learned how to sing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star in Mandarin. Bernie then sang a special song for us and performed a little dance. We also learned about the different types of traditional clothing worn during festivals and other special occasions. The celebration ended with us learning how to make sticky rice dumplings, a traditional food enjoyed during the Dragon Boat Festival. Little Assets Melbourne City Early Learning
