Congratulations to our school community for their participation in the VCD cross-country last week. Both Primary and Secondary students gave it their absolute best. We had a great time running and competing around the iconic Albert Park Lake. Some great runs were seen! We enjoyed a fantastic BBQ cooked by the Senior students, and the Primary students also competed in an egg and spoon race. And, of course, VCD House rivalry was high. Who won? High or Punt? Green or Red. Take a guess! Hint: It was NOT the colour of grass!
GO PUNT!!!!!

VCD students commemorated ANZAC Day on Friday. Our Senior students spoke about what ANZAC Day means and why we commemorate it. The primary students laid a wreath they had made. We all observed a minute’s silence. Afterwards we shared in eating ANZAC Day biscuits made by Senior students.

Some of our students are at the Deaf Connect camp! We hope all participants have a terrific time and make new friends, develop their Deafhood and Deaf identity further and bring back amazing memories and skills to share. Thanks to Deaf Connect for this amazing opportunity for our young Deaf generation! Deaf Connect

VCD is deeply saddened by the news of Marc Ethan’s passing. We acknowledge the significant impact Marc has had on our school, our current and former staff and students, and the Deaf community since the early 2000s. He contributed to our College in many ways, including interpreting parent-teacher interviews and school council meetings, professional learning for staff, student VET placements, school incursions, and assisting in the development of our Attitudes to School Survey (AtoSS), as well as countless other events too numerous to mention. Marc consistently brought warmth, professionalism, integrity and a deep commitment to supporting the important work of the College. He was a valued ally to both VCD and the Deaf community and was cherished by many staff and students, past and present. Vale Marc. Thank you for everything you have given to our community. You will be greatly missed.
