The Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) (GDML) has been cancelled for new international student enrolments, following concerns around course switching, visa refusals and non-completion rates.

For a long time, some international students entering Australia on a Higher Education course could potentially move into a VET package, provided the package included a Graduate Diploma-level course and met the relevant study requirements under visa condition 8202.

📊 The numbers behind the decision are significant:
▪️452 VET providers were registered to deliver this course, contributing to almost 90% of all vocational graduate diploma courses
▪️ 41,033 active CoEs, but only 15,772 students recorded as currently studying
▪️77% of 2025 students transferring into the course came from Higher Education

Don’t choose a course simply because it looks cheaper or easier. Your course progression needs to be genuine, logical and compliant with your visa conditions. Student visa policies will be continuing to tighten, so always check your individual circumstances before making any decisions, such as changing courses!
