Our FIRE Carriers recently had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Long Walk at Aquinas College, joining students from other schools to walk together in the spirit of reconciliation.

The day provided meaningful opportunities to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories and perspectives, while reflecting on the importance of respect, understanding and unity.

We are incredibly proud of our students for representing St John's so thoughtfully and embracing this valuable learning experience.

Over the coming days, we will be sharing some of our students' reflections from the Long Walk. We look forward to giving you an insight into what they learned and experienced.

🏐⚽ 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟱 & 𝟲 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀! ⚽🏐

Last Friday, our Year 5 and 6 students showcased incredible talent, teamwork and sportsmanship at the Interschool Sport Gala Day.

Competing in both soccer and netball, our students demonstrated great skill, determination and enthusiasm throughout the day.

The highlight was our outstanding netball team, who progressed all the way to the Grand Final against Donvale Christian College. In a thrilling match that went into additional time, the team showed remarkable resilience and teamwork to secure a memorable victory and bring home the championship banner! 🏆

We are incredibly proud of all our students for the way they represented St John's.

A special thank you to the parents who supported the day, and especially to 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗻, whose coaching and encouragement helped inspire our netball teams to achieve this wonderful result.

Our students have been busy exploring the world around them, and we are excited to invite families to our Geography Expo!

Join us at 𝟮:𝟯𝟬𝗽𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟰 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 as students showcase their learning through creative, hands-on displays and inquiry-based experiences. Each year level will share their discoveries, highlighting student voice, creativity and deep thinking about place and environment.

A massive congratulations to Abbie and Connor for their fantastic grit at the Regional Cross Country Championships on a pretty sloppy Yarra Glen racecourse.

Facing a field of 80 runners each, Abbie secured a stellar 16th place finish, while Connor fought hard as an Under 10 bottom-ager to cross the line in an impressive 40th position.

Both athletes did an incredible job tackling the mud and we are all super proud of their achievements.👏

👕 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿

A reminder to families that 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲, is the final day to place uniform orders for delivery to school before the Term 2 break.

Final delivery to school for Term 2 will be on 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲. Please note there will be no uniform delivery to school in the last week of term.

Orders placed during the holiday break will be held for dispatch when school reopens. Home delivery and Click & Collect will remain available as normal.

✨ 𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ✨

On 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟲 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲, we will come together as a school community to celebrate SHINE Day — a special day recognising the unique gifts and talents of every child.

Throughout the day, students will participate in engaging activities and workshops with 𝗚𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝘆𝗮𝗻𝘁, encouraging them to sing, create, grow in confidence and let their light shine.

Families and friends are warmly invited to join us for three special events:

🌟 𝟵:𝟬𝟬𝗮𝗺 – Whole School Introduction with Gen Bryant
🧺 𝟭𝟬:𝟯𝟬𝗮𝗺 – Family Shared Picnic on the school green (please bring your own lunch and picnic rug)
🎵 𝟮:𝟬𝟬𝗽𝗺 – Whole School SHINE Concert in the Coghlan Centre

Our Prep teachers play such an important role in helping our youngest students feel safe, confident and excited about school. Each day, they nurture curiosity, independence, friendships and a love of learning as our Prep children take their first big steps in primary school life.

We are so grateful for the care, patience and dedication they bring to our students and families.
