Hi Community,
We are reviewing our philosophy for 2024 to represent our current values, vision, and commitment to you, your children, and our families. We deeply value meaningful conversations and input, and as you have all been on this incredible journey with us becoming Guardian, we would love to hear what you value and look for in high-quality childcare so we can ensure all stakeholder's voices are heard. We have been documenting the children’s voices to see what they value about being here at Guardian Croydon. After all, they are the reason we are here and are the most important people in our community.

Here’s a snippet of some of the beliefs the children have and what they value:
Everyone should get to play here
I like using the big blocks and all of the little blocks, too.

Today I would like to introduce you to Tatum.
I was lucky to have been introduced to this amazing educator not long after I started at Guardian. I couldn’t wait to ensure she continued her career with me.
Tatum works in our nursery space alongside Kaley, they are both responsible for ensuring our families, especially our first time families, feel confident knowing their precious babies are in a safe environment.
Working with infants is hard work emotionally, mentally and physically.. but very rewarding.
Tatum has developed trusting respectful relationships with families but has also set the bar extremely high for the rest of us!

One of the wonderful things I love about Guardian, is how much they encourage and support learning and growth.
Meet our newest trainee educator Ally. Ally started her introduction at Guardian as a parent and now she has totally changed her career to an Early childhood Educator. Ally has already developed trusting relationships with children, families and educators. We love having Ally on our team! Welcome Ally to the team at Platypus Junction Croydon.

Another successful visit to Bush Kinder.
The children enjoyed a bear hunt, although Kate hid our bear really well and we couldn’t find him for ages.
They also collected many sticks in readiness for their next visit so they can build a bridge.
There was a very intense discussion about what they will wear to bush kinder next time, so they don’t get scratches on their legs from the bushes when they explore.
These excursions are a great way to practice for our end of year excursion to Healesville Sanctuary.

Getting excited about our first ever Summer Learning Program at Platypus Junction Croydon! Lots of input from families, educators and excitement and ideas from the children already. I think we need a beach day with zooper doopers, and icecream making. ☀️

Today we celebrated our amazing and passionate kindergarten teachers, Simone and Anne.
You have both work incredibly hard to create learning environments that are engaging, fun and challenging. Platypus Junction and our little learners are very lucky to have you both!

We completed our first ever bush kinder today and it was an absolutely success. The children were so engaged in the natural environment, and we heard so many curious questions to extend on and explore in the classroom. One of the many joys I get is seeing pure wonder and joy on a child’s face. I’m so proud of my kinder team and our Bunjil children. I can’t wait for next week! -Zoe Ann Marie Downs
