This is just some of what we did on this wet and cold one at 8.30am yesterday in our weekly Barwon Heads “More than just a walking group” - as the name suggests, we do a lot more than just walk… We had 21 attend and had a solid session! 🧘‍♀️ Strength, Balance, Fitness, Flexibility and Mobility are the major focus along with laughter and connection. So this is what we did yesterday in our Yarra’s Edge - FREE “More than just a walking group” - taken by our legend Ben Davoli! These classes are designed to connect the Docklands community - particularly the developed Yarra’s Edge and Wharf’s Entrance communities!

- The group completed a warm up before doing some stretching, balance work and body weight exercises.

- We then moved into interval running.

- Following that we walked to the park and completed agility and more balance exercises.

No better way to start the day! Every Tuesday at 9am!

We have a major problem in the wellness industry right now: The "N=1" Fallacy.

You scroll LinkedIn or Instagram and see a 22-year-old fitness influencer sharing their "perfect" morning routine. A sleek Instagram reel is being mistaken for a peer-reviewed study. A routine that worked for one person (N=1) is being sold as a cure for everyone.

And because they look healthy, we think: "If I do that, I will get that result."
But that protocol is their prescription. It works for their genetics, their stress load, their age, and their lifestyle.

Handing that same protocol to a 45-year-old executive with a mortgage, sleep debt, and a bad back isn't "optimizing" them. It’s likely breaking them.

This "Wild West" environment of health advice is costing us. It leads to "program hopping," burnout, and investing energy into tactics that yield zero physiological return.

Real health isn't about copying tactics. It's about understanding principles.

Context matters more than content.

GYM SPOTLIGHT - Wharf Club! This facility was developed by Mirvac and instead of the standard one gym/pool/spa/steam room type set up per apartment complex, Mirvac in their vision and wisdom went for a different approach that wanted to focus on high-level service for their residents just as they did with the Rekdek across 7 adjoining apartment towers. In this case the Wharf Club offers residents of the Forge and Voyager apartments a 2 lane 25m pool, spa, steam room and gym! Just as they did with the Rekdek, Mirvac wanted to have a Gym Management company provide for 33 hours a week, the Wharf Club offers residents Wharf Club inductions, fitness assessments, program designs, fitness classes and personal training. We were fortunate enough to win a tender process over 7 years ago and have managed it since! It is a welcoming and friendly and great community and we are privileged to offer our high level services in the Wharf Club!

In more positive news for our Workplace Health side of the business, our weekly 5 hour program delivery to Ferguson Plarre’s Bakehouse has been expanded to 6 hours from next week! A great program designed to prevent and rehabilitate injury as well as working individually with employees to help them improve their health, fitness and wellbeing! Our programs can be as little as 1 hour per week right up to gym management in your workplace! Reach out for an obligation free chat and/or quote!

This is what we did on Wednesday in our Southbank - FREE “More than just a walking group”!
Our session kicked off with some postural exercises, before moving into our step up circuit, aiming for a better score than last time!
During the session we also performed some balance drills and stretches!
