Inspired by the engineering that drives Formula 1ยฎ at the Australian Grand Prix, this challenge puts students in the role of real motorsport teams.

They work under pressure.
They think in systems.
They design, test, refine, and go again.

โ†’ performance
โ†’ precision
โ†’ problem-solving

This isnโ€™t theory. This is how engineering actually works. If you want your students thinking like the teams at Albert Park, this is it.

In 2022, Aylin entered the STEM Hub Motorsport Challenge Series as a high school student.

She went on to win the competition twice.

Today she is studying Engineering at Monash University and now volunteers with STEM Hub to support the next generation of students.

Experiences like these give students the opportunity to apply their ideas, present solutions and discover pathways they may never have considered.

This is exactly why we run our STEM challenges.

The judges behind the 2026 Green Grid Challenge.

Leaders from the Royal Australian Navy Australian Army Royal Australian Air Force and Victoria State Emergency Service joined us at the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Australian Grand Prix to assess the student pitches and provide real-world feedback.

Their insights challenged teams to think about practical engineering, resilience and sustainability in the systems that power our world.

A huge thank you to these professionals for giving their time to support the next generation of innovators.

We also appreciate the three Melbourne Robocats university students who assisted the judging panel on the day.
