Melbourne Space Peogram will be setting up stall next Monday at the Mid-year Science Expo hosted in Building 189 at the University of Melbourne Parkville Campus from 12 to 2pm. The stall will feature parts of MSP's projects in ACRUX-2, Humanoid, and Animatronics and there will be representatives from multiple teams to answer any questions.

Melbourne Space Program is a student-led non-for-profit organisation aiming to develop future technology leaders. We select high-potential tertiary students across engineering, business and law, and provide them with challenging space and technology projects. These projects typically require complex problem-solving, the application of technical skills and the development of soft-skills as they operate in a professional, best-practice environment with support from academic mentors and industry professionals.

PROJECTS

ACRUX-2 Mission 🛰️

ACRUX-2, the second mission in the ACRUX Program, aims to become the first Australian student team to capture a photo from low Earth orbit. The team will accomplish this through the hands-on development of the ACRUX-2 satellite, a 3U CubeSat, and the ACRUX ground station, which is capable of sending and receiving UHF signals.

Humanoid Robot 🤖

Our Humanoid Robot blends advanced robotics with space related services, currently focusing on creating an interactive robot that builds on the ability to take on space controls. The project's underlying goal is to impart essential robotics skills to our students – skills that also hold significant relevance in space applications.

Animatronics 🦖

The Animatronics Project is dedicated to social impact, aiming to craft animatronic robotic characters for children in hospitals. Our pilot character, an animatronic baby velociraptor, is set to bring happiness to many young patients.
