Dear IDTIA community it is with great sadness that I announce the passing of Bouthaina Mayall on February 15th, 2026.
Bouthaina's work in Dance Movement Therapy was marked by thoughtful, insightful, and compassionate contributions. I witnessed Bouthaina's exceptional care and sensitivity while working with the elderly in an aged care facility, where her mother was also a resident. Bouthaina demonstrated remarkable tenderness and kindness towards all individuals, treating them as if they were part of her own family. Bouthaina’s contributions to IDTIA included holding the Convenor position and facilitating in trainings and workshops. She always prepared meticulously and presented with integrity and respect and leaves behind many friends in the DMT community who loved her dearly.
She will be deeply missed. Vale Bouthaina.

Dance & Move - Monday 18th August 2025, 6.30pm AEST Zoom
Reflections of Ourselves

Our session is facilitated by Ana Carolina Andrade

In this session, I invite you on a gentle journey of self-acceptance and healing through movement and self-reflection. Using a mirror as a companion, we will explore how seeing ourselves—just as we are—can open pathways to deeper awareness, fun, and emotional connection.

Through guided movement, playful exploration, and intuitive dance, we’ll use the mirror not as a critique but as a window in to our inner world. Whether you have a small handheld mirror or are seated near a wardrobe mirror, you are welcome just as you are. Let’s move together, reflect, and allow the dance to lead us where words cannot.
