πββοΈπββοΈ Year 3β6 House Athletics Carnival! π
On Tuesday, KHPS held our annual Year 3β6 House Athletics Carnival, and what a fantastic day it was!
It was wonderful to see our students proudly donning their house colours and cheering on their teammates. We were especially proud to see our school values of Collaboration, Respect and Perseverance shining through throughout the day. ππβ€οΈπ

Today Foundation students celebrated 100 days of school! They counted to 100 using giant ten frames, made towers using 100 cups and put 100 food items into a box to take home. It was a very enjoyable day! π

Our Year 5/6 students have been exploring the tertiary colour wheel in Visual Arts!
After learning about tertiary colours, students experimented with mixing their own shades using watercolours before carefully planning and creating these stunning artworks. Their creativity, colour blending skills and attention to detail have resulted in some truly gorgeous pieces.
We are so proud of their artistic efforts β well done, Year 5/6! πποΈπ¨

Our 1/2 students have been looking at Kandinkyβs concentric circles work and created these beautiful tree artworks using his work as inspiration. They created painted papers, drew and cut their shapes, and finished their work with paint pen details.

πͺπͺ Warning: This post may cause serious cookie cravings!
This term we made chocolate chip cookies during one of our unit of inquiry lessons. We combined different materials and ingredients to make the most delicious and sweet cookies.
We have been learning about what materials do when they combine. For example, once we mixed in the butter we could not get it back out of the mixture!
The day before we wrote a procedure that told us how to make the cookies and what ingredients we needed.
At the end of our baking lesson, we got to eat the cookies while we did our special narrative writing lesson.
It was lots of fun. I wish we could do cookie baking and eating every Thursday! - Elena - Year 2
