At ECT we also place a strong emphasis on nurturing students’ initiative and creativity. We believe that empowering students to be proactive in their learning journey is crucial for their development.

Our trainers encourage students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and take ownership of their learning process. By promoting initiative, we empower students to become lifelong learners who are curious, resilient, and adaptable.

Supporting a child when behaviours are heightened is not just about calming the moment, it is an educational, emotional, and developmental necessity.

Theorists across decades agree: children learn regulation, resilience, and emotional intelligence through the compassionate, attuned responses of the adults around them.

In early childhood education, these moments are golden opportunities for teaching, bonding, and growth.

Why did we choose Monday for our motivational post shares? Well, we know Mondays can be daunting for some people, while others are lamenting the weekend just gone, so we wanted to give you a little boost.

We try to find great artists who have created their works around a saying that we hope resonates and/or motivates.

This weeks share comes from one of our favourites; ❤️❤️❤️

Sharing again from a past PD session.

Children are hardwired to make sense of the world through stories, just as a baby learns to communicate without formal lessons. Reading and writing, by contrast, are skills that must be taught. From the first cave drawings and tales told around the fire, to the more familiar traditional fables.

I’m talking about developing your children’s creativity and giving them the skills to confidently share made-up stories based on their interests and the things that are familiar to them. These allow them to make sense of the things they see in everyday life and provide a safe space for children to explore serious issues such as violence and death without being judged.

You can share the children’s sense of humour and laugh together, building strong bonds and showing that their suggestions (however off the wall) are valued.

Today we made a cubby house and then gathered something we found outside and the story began….
