meet Lily-Grace! 💞 a 1st year at Ormond and 2nd year at UniMelb/VCA studying fine arts, majoring in dance 🧑🏼🩰
“I lived in Perth last year, completing the first year of my dance degree at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). I am currently training in Contemporary dance, and I’ve been dancing since I was 4, training in every style including Cheerleading. I attended the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School for high school, and completed my year 12 online while training in classical ballet full-time. 🩰
I have always dreamed of going to College, and learning about Ormond’s incredibly exciting and vibrant culture as well as its plethora of activities, societies, and artistic opportunities made me certain that I wanted to live here. I was blown away by Ormond’s involvement in the performing arts and was so excited learning about the annual musical. I am so lucky to be choreographing this year’s musical as well as dancing in the ensemble. Being part of the Dance subcommittee has been so much fun and there are always so many fun events on, such as our recent Line Dancing night with the Rural and Leisure subcommittees!
Some highlights this year have been the Orma’am retreat, the Mardi Gras smoko, and performing at Ormond’s Ball! 🪩
I absolutely love studying contemporary dance at VCA. It has always been my dream to become a professional dancer and choreographer, and learning from incredible artists as well as getting to collaborate with leading Australian companies has been so fulfilling and inspiring. I love performing for live audiences and choreographing my own pieces, so I feel so grateful to be training here!”
