What a wonderful day we’ve had at our Stay and Play sessions today! Our indoor and outdoor environments came alive with laughter, creativity, and joyful connection as children and families explored, played, and made beautiful memories together.
From sensory play and imaginative adventures to shared stories and curious discoveries, every moment was filled with excitement and engagement. It was so heartwarming to see everyone so involved and enjoying the magic of play.
To top it all off, we gathered together to enjoy a delicious lunch, chicken biryani that was an absolute hit with little tastebuds (and grown-up ones too!).
Thank you to all the families who joined us, these shared experiences are what make Little Assets such a special place to be!

This week, our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten children had an exciting and educational incursion with some very special visitors , our local police officers!
The children were absolutely thrilled to meet the friendly officers, who took the time to talk about their important role in the community, how they help keep everyone safe, and even showed us some of their equipment and uniform. There were lots of wide eyes and curious questions ,and the highlight was definitely getting to see the police car up close (lights and sirens included!).
This visit was not only fun, but also a great way for our little learners to build trust and positive relationships with community helpers. A big thank you to our local police for taking the time to connect with our children and make the day so memorable.

Our kindergarten friends have been exploring a very special project… the Feelometer! It’s a simple but powerful tool we’ve introduced to help our young learners recognise, name, and manage their emotions throughout the day.
We’re so proud of the way our young learners are growing in confidence, empathy, and self-regulation. The Feelometer is becoming an important part of our classroom community, helping us support one another and creating a space where every feeling is recognised and respected.

Today we had a special visit from Tony, our local firefighter! 🧑🚒
Tony spoke to the children about fire safety and gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the important work firefighters do to keep our community safe. The children loved asking questions, exploring the equipment, and learning how to stay safe in an emergency.
Thank you so much, Tony, for your time, your bravery, and for being a true community hero!

“Loose parts” in the context of play and learning refer to open-ended, everyday materials that children can manipulate, combine, and transform in countless ways, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and imagination.
Children in kinder room explored loose parts, used empty cardboard boxes 📦 to express their creativity and ideas.
It helped them developing an understanding that they have agency and can freely make decisions about how they would want their project look like.

Child W said, “he got a monster truck in a big box “ when we were talking about recycling things .
A lot of children wanted to “build a house” out of the boxes.
Child A used her actions to show “a traingle shaped roof of the house”
Child N was curious about boxes and painting them!

What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and begin Harmony Week than by bringing children together through the joy of cooking! Today, our little chefs put on their aprons, rolled up their sleeves, and got creative in the kitchen, making delicious homemade pizzas to mark the occasion. 🍀 🍕 😊
From kneading the dough to choosing their favorite toppings, the children explored teamwork, creativity, and cultural appreciation, a perfect way to start Harmony Week, which is all about inclusion, respect, and diversity.
