The theme today has been 'Frozen' celebrating a child turning 4 years. Girls painted and decorated their butterfly Frozen masks. When finished one said 'we can be butterfly girls, lets flutter wings'.

Our 'bark tent' started with a child holding a long piece of bent bark on the ground saying 'how do I make something'. We added more pieces of bent bark to make a tent. All children joined in and soon added 'a campfire'.

I just love the colour of Autumn leaves in the hills. Here children extend lines of their handprints to make trees. They then stick on colourful Autumn leaves. 'Lots are falling down' says one child as he sticks and when quizzed, he says, it is Autumn'.

Early maths skills - boys fill muffin holes in trays with water. On one occasion, they fill 'fifteen' holes and when asked, they count the correct number they have filled. I ask how may haven't you filled and they count 'nine'. II suggest that fifteen plus nine equals twenty four. Boys then count all the muffin holes and come up with 'twenty four' as well.

Children help carry small logs to the side of the wood yard. On the way they stop to 'build a wood castle'. Soon one boy says 'let's wreck our building'. Once at the side of the wood yard a another child passes logs to me saying 'I ate up all my dinner last night to get strong'.
