Dear Little Possums Community

As we have come to the end of the term today 19th December, we would like to thank you and your children for being such a wonderful part of our playgroup this year.

It has been a joy watching the children learn, play, and grow together, and we truly appreciate your support and involvement.

Today marked our final session for the 2025. We hope you enjoy a relaxing and joyful Christmas break filled with special moments with family and friends.

🌿 URGENT: Little Possums Playgroup Needs Volunteers or We Cannot Run Next Year 🌿

Little Possums Playgroup is at real risk of closing in 2026. Many of our long-term families who have so kindly dedicated their time to ensuring that this beautiful Playgroup runs, are moving on as their children start school, and we urgently need new hands to keep our parent-led playgroup running.

We rely on small contributions of time from our families to share the load. Right now, we specifically need three volunteers for Friday morning opening, a very simple 15-minute job. With more volunteers, you may only need to help once a month or even every two months.

If you’re currently attending, planning to join next year, or thinking about joining a supportive local playgroup, please consider volunteering. Without enough help, we will not be able to continue in 2026.

It would break our hearts to have to cease operating Little Possums as it really is a wonderful Playgroup that has facilitated many wonderful moments for our children and formed long lasting friendships for many of us.

Your time, even a little, will make a huge difference. Please reach out if you can help.

🌿 Little Possum’s Playgroup – Volunteers Needed for 2026 🌿

Hi everyone!

As we start planning for next year, we are looking for a few wonderful people to help keep Little Possums Playgroup running smoothly.

We’re hoping to find:

✨ At least three volunteers who can commit to rotating regular opens each week at 9:30am, including setting up the indoor and outdoor play space, kitchen, and kids tables.

✨ An Administration Coordinator, someone who can oversee our emails, enrolments, and general communication. This role is essential for keeping everything organised behind the scenes.

If you’ve enjoyed being part of Little Possums Playgroup or would love to get involved, we’d be so grateful for your help. The playgroup can only run with the support of volunteers, and even a small commitment makes a huge difference.

As we wrap up another wonderful year at Little Possums Playgroup, we want to thank all of our families for such a beautiful term filled with play, learning, and community. 💛

✨ We are no longer taking enrolments for the remainder of 2025.

✨ However, new families are warmly invited to attend one free trial session to see if you’d like to join us full-time in Term 1, 2026.

🍕 Pizza Day at Little Possums Playgroup! 🍕

Last Friday was extra delicious at Playgroup!
The children had the BEST time making their very own pizzas. They were so excited when they got to watch them bake and then eat them for morning tea! Very happy little chefs! 😊✨️

Another magical morning at Little Possums Playgroup today ✨🌈

The children absolutely loved making their colourful pasta necklaces, provided by Mery. A fun activity that also supports their fine motor skills, hand–eye coordination, and creativity. The lovely Kat brought along and guided everyone through a beautiful rainbow craft, followed by a wonderful story that tied perfectly into our rainbow and rainy day theme.

Lots of learning, lots of laughter, and plenty of happy little faces, another lovely morning with our Little Possums family. 💛

We had so many fun activities in addition to our usual playtime setup today at Playgroup! A big thank you to Sophie for bringing the adorable Make Your Own Cow puppet craft, and to Mery for bringing sunflower seeds for the children to plant 🌻

We also had some fun extras like colouring-in, homemade Play Dough, as well as all of our usual activities and toys, outside play, and a wonderful storytime by Lily to finish off the session.

Our Halloween celebration was filled with potion making, pumpkin crafts, spooky storytime, and the sweetest little costumes you’ve ever seen! 🕷️🕸️

This year’s Children’s Week theme is:
✨ “Everyone should know about Children’s Rights.” ✨

Children’s Week is about advocating for the rights of children. It's also about celebrating the wonder, creativity, and individuality of every child, and reminding us all that every child deserves to be heard, respected, and valued. 💛

Let’s take a moment to honour the amazing little people in our community and continue creating spaces where they can learn, play, and grow safely and freely 🌿

✨ We’re back, and in our beautiful new home! ✨

Today marked the very first day of Term 4 in our new location, and we couldn’t love it more! The space is bright, open, welcoming, and filled with so much joy already 💛

It was so special seeing everyone explore, laugh, and settle into this stunning new setting, it truly feels like the perfect fresh start.

Here’s to a wonderful term ahead, full of connection, play, and community. We can’t wait to make more memories here together! 🌼
