๐ฟ๐ฆ Bush Kinder at The Briars ๐ฆ๐ฟ
Whatโs that in the bushes? ๐
The rainy weather set up the perfect day for a walk through the bush at The Briars, where our kindergarten children immersed themselves in nature and explored the beautiful environment around them.
Can you see what we see? Today we were lucky enough to spot 2 emu and a mob of kangaroos as we ventured along the tracks ๐ง๏ธ๐
These moments in nature spark curiosity, encourage observation, and help children build a deep connection with the land and wildlife around them. There was so much excitement as the children quietly watched the animals in their natural habitat and shared their discoveries with one another ๐
Bush Kinder adventures truly are magical.

This afternoon, we hosted our biggest afternoon tea to raise funds for the Cancer Council. The event brought everyone together for a wonderful cause and filled the centre with excitement, teamwork, and the delicious smell of fresh baking. Each room was busy preparing a variety of tasty treats, including scones, gingerbread, and honey joys, with everyone contributing their own special touch.

๐ดโโ ๏ธ๐ Pirate Day at Mt Eliza House ๐๐ดโโ ๏ธ
Today our little pirates across the centre came together to celebrate Pirate Day in support of The Kids' Cancer Project.
From pirate hats and treasure hunts to imaginative adventures and plenty of โArrrโsโ, the children had so much fun dressing up and joining in the excitement of the day โ ๏ธโ
Most importantly, Pirate Day gave us the opportunity to come together as a community and support an important cause helping fund vital childhood cancer research.
We loved seeing our little pirates embrace the spirit of the day with kindness, creativity, and lots of smiles ๐

โ๏ธโจ Building Literacy Skills for School and Beyond โจโ๏ธ
What does school readiness look like at Mt Eliza House?
In our kindergarten program, children engage in rich literacy experiences that support the development of early reading, writing, communication, and fine motor skills needed for a confident transition to school.
In line with the Victorian Curriculum and VEYLDF, children are encouraged to become familiar with letters and symbols in their environment through meaningful, play based learning experiences.
Using natural materials, loose parts, sensory experiences, and playdough, children strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers while exploring letter formation, mark making, and the early foundations of handwriting. ๐ฟโ
These hands on experiences support children to build confidence, coordination, creativity, and a positive connection to literacy as they prepare for their next stage of learning.
Join us at our Kindergarten Information Evening to learn more about how our program supports children to become confident, capable, and โSchool Readyโ learners ๐
