Today’s SMILE Workshop was with the men’s group at Roxburgh Youth Centre.

The workshop provided an opportunity for students and participants of the group to chat about different ways we can maintain a healthy lifestyle and a healthy heart.

We had a chance to bring out our creative skills and build pallet coasters out of popsicle sticks as part of our art activity, which was a great way to improve our problem solving skills!
We got to see some very impressive pieces.

We welcome all community members to be involved in our SMILE workshops.

Today’s SMILE Health Kiosk at Lynda Blundel Senior Centre provided a great opportunity for students to meet and provide free health checks. The health kiosk offers consumers the opportunity to be able to engage in health related conversations.
The health kiosk also provides mindfulness activities that community members can participate in. These mindfulness activities also act as stress relievers which we have been able to see first-hand as being highly effective.
All of us here at Dallas Neighborhood house enjoyed today and being able to interact with the wider community.
We welcome all members of the community to come and say hello when these SMILE health kiosks are running.
We have our next SMILE Kiosk at Broadmeadows Leisure Centre tomorrow (15/9/17) from 2:30-4:30

GUIDED MEDITATION: 4 MINUTE STRESS BUSTER 13/09/2017

At Today's SMILE workshop we had a very successful class, which began with addressing and discussing STRESS.
We looked at how to recognize stress and how it affects us physically and mentally when we are stressed. We also discussed within the group easy and effective ways to manage stress.

At the end of this stress talk we listened and used the below mindfulness video, which was rated highly effective among the group at the end.

Please feel free to click on the link below and enjoy this video to help you feel a little less stressed.
