Our nursery children have continued exploring the colours of the Aboriginal flag through creative and sensory experiences. ❤️💛🖤
Using paint, colour, and natural materials, the children created their own representations while engaging in open-ended exploration and self-expression. These experiences support children’s creativity, sensory development, and early understanding of culture, belonging, and identity.
It has been wonderful to see the children confidently explore different textures, colours, and materials as they learn through play and discovery.

Today our nursery children explored the Torres Strait Islander flag through their own creative interpretations as part of our ongoing commitment to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in meaningful ways.
Using paint, color, texture, and conversation, the children engaged in a child-led experience that encouraged curiosity, identity, and connection. Through this exploration, we supported the children to participate in an Acknowledgement of Country that was authentic, respectful, and meaningful to them.
We value creating opportunities where even our youngest learners can begin to develop a sense of belonging, respect for First Nations cultures, and an understanding of the rich histories and traditions of our land.

Today the kinder children extended their own ideas by working collaboratively to create a racetrack.
Through shared thinking and teamwork, they co-constructed tunnels and bridges, problem-solving together as they designed and built their course. The children negotiated ideas, tested their structures, and made adjustments as they went, showing great persistence and creativity throughout the experience.
It was wonderful to see their imagination come to life as they worked together with confidence, communication, and a strong sense of belonging within the group.
A fantastic example of child-led learning, collaboration, and engineering thinking in action!

Our kinder children have been busy collecting cans generously donated by our families and local cafés. Together, we collected an amazing 110 cans!
As a group, the children decided to donate the cans to Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre to help support people in need. One of our children shared a powerful reminder: “We need to help people be safe.”
We are so proud of the kindness, empathy, and community spirit our children have shown throughout this experience. Thank you to all the families and local cafés who supported this meaningful project.
