We loved welcoming Year 8 students from Mount Lilydale Mercy College to Yarra Ranges Tech School for our Body Systems program. Through immersive technologies, real-world health equipment and problem-solving challenges, where students experienced how science, technology and innovation are shaping the future of healthcare.

So great to see the creativity and problem-solving from Lilydale Heights College students!

A big thank you to the kitchen garden students for the thoughtful and innovative ideas they brought to our Smart Farming Program at Yarra Ranges Tech School. It was fantastic to see them engage with real-world agricultural challenges in the Yarra Ranges including Yering Christmas Tree Farm, explore technologies like drones and sensors, and design solutions that balanced productivity, sustainability, and cost. We loved having you and were seriously impressed by your teamwork, and the amazing ideas in technological innovations!

Lot's of fun had in our new Forensics program last week! Students worked in teams to navigate a crime scene with robots, analyse DNA and blood samples, then decipher an encrypted laptop to uncover clues for who sabotaged the soar panel array. Well done on cracking the case Mooroolbark Grammar!

We were thrilled to welcome Cathedral College to the Tech School this week for a three-day Robotics Camp, the final in our series with regional schools. Students embraced the opportunity to learn diving into building, coding, and collaborating on their own robotics projects. Their enthusiasm was evident as they developed new skills, formed friendships around shared interests in technology, and connected their learning to real-world applications sparking curiosity, creativity, and a passion for STEM. A huge thanks to our friends at Ballarat Tech School and Frankston Tech School for road tripping to the Yarra Ranges for our Shared Learning Day earlier this week.

It was fantastic to share innovative ideas and programs, build new connections, learn lots and spend time getting to know each other better. We’re already looking forward to our next adventures together later this year!
