Piano Studio of Nonna Berter M.Mus .Moscow Bentleigh School of Piano was established in 2000 by a Russian born and educated musician Nonna Berter.
Nonna is a graduate of a famous Russian Academy of Music in Moscow where she studied with some of the best teachers including Aelxander Satz, Yuri Ponizovkin and Inna Malinina amongst others. Living and teaching in Australia for over 20 years she has taught and worked as a pianist in many leading Melbourne institutions including VCA, MacRobertson High, McKinnon High, Haileybury, Brighton Grammar,
De La Salle College and others. She has played for ballet and opera schools, and continues to work as an accompanist for various instruments and voice, collaborating with some of the best teachers in Melbourne and regularly playing for AMEB and VCE exams. Nonna's teaching style is based on strong European tradition with emphasis on piano technique, detailed attention to musical style and individual approach. Although many of her students have been receiving excellent results at the examinations and won piano competitions and scholarships, one of her main teaching goals is to give each person who walks into her studio an opportunity to discover the wonderful world of music, develop at their own pace and make the piano playing an important part of their life. Nonna constantly continues her education, participating in professional teaching seminars and courses. She stays open to new ideas in teaching, having done training in Suzuki method and keeping current membership in VMTA and Suzuki Association. Recently Nonna became a member of Baroque Music Ensemble Orbis Sonorum which performs regularly around Melbourne.
