Hi All, posting this research study for all to consider regarding weight stigma. TW for the fact that the research does ask you to enter your weight. CW also for the fact I have not completed it yet myself, but it is good to get more research in this field. Cheers! Sarah
The Body Image, Eating and Weight Clinical Research Team at Australian Catholic University are conducting research developing and evaluating a new weight-stigma measure. Availability of a high-quality measure of weight stigma will improve understanding and prevention of weight stigma and its effects.
Note from researcher: This study is an online self-report questionnaire which will ask you questions about your experiences regarding weight. Adults aged 18-65 of any weight are able to participate in this study. All participants will go into a draw to win an iPad mini. Average completion time has been 20-25 mins.
The weight stigma questionnaire study can be accessed by clicking on the following link: https://tinyurl.com/WeightStigmaStudy
If you have further queries, please do not hesitate to contact Stephanie Papadopoulos at [email protected]."

MEDIA CALL FROM ABC. Hi all, here is a message I'm passing on from this journalist. Please contact him if you would like to be in the story! Sarah x
I’m a journalist at ABC working on a story about physical activity and how that might have been disrupted by COVID-19. A group of researchers with La Trobe, Auckland and Notre Dame universities have a survey out as part of a study into how coronavirus has disrupted Australian and New Zealander’s exercise or physical activity.
I have a woman already who has Type-1 Diabetes and had a very consistent physical activity routine before COVID, and has struggled to keep it going. I’m looking for someone that didn’t necessarily have a routine / or is looking at starting to exercise that wants to take part in the story.
The story is for radio and online so will involve a pre-recorded interview and I will need a photo sent through.

Fascinating commentary by Russell Brand about Adel. No diet mentions, more about the media. Very insightful! Sarah x
What do you think about the media's obsession with bodies?
07/05/2020
No diet day (yesterday! Ops!) Is vitally important to our community. Rejecting what we now know is a dangerous practice of rebound weight gain and profit (for the seller) is a pathway to body peace. Sarah xx

Let's MAKE SPACE for our bodies, we don't deserve to shrink, we deserve to take up the space we need, especially while moving or exercising or even moving through a cafe (well not this month, but you know what I mean!) Love, Sarah

So, this is the final of my 3 part series of pictures I choose of myself from the Yarra Trail photoshoot. It was a very body positive journey for me, I had to look through hundreds of pictures of myself, some good, some erhm...not so good and I think that exposure if pics make you feel not so body pos, is a good thing.
Anyway, this one looks like "me" I think! I kept the whole outfit as it was comfy and a bit different and loving the spot! ...I did a review of the jeans on Facebook yesterday if you want a laugh. Clearly not experienced in getting my whole body in frame, but if you want to see my butt up close, it was a winner!
I hope everyone is as well as they can be. I am finding a return to a breath and meditation practice really positive so might post later today a practice. Something in this time is making me want to share. Slowing down has been incredible for me personally.
I am not sure that is the right thing to say, but it was needed even if like everyone, financially and emotionally there are hardships. I do consider myself lucky though as I live with 2 amazing kids, one who loves hugs and one who is a teen, enough said! So I get lots of hugs from they younger one.
Have a wonderful Saturday.
Love,
Sarah x
