VETASSESS fees are increasing from 9 September 2026.
The fee increase will affect applicants across a range of occupations, including Cafe or Restaurant Manager, Marketing Specialist, University Lecturer, and many other professional occupations.
The professional skills assessment fees will increase from $1,096 to $1,146 from 9 September 2026, in line with movements in the Consumer Price Index. Applications received before 9 September 2026 will be charged at current rates. The increase does not apply to trade occupation skills assessments.

Tasmania’s first 2026–27 invitation round is out!
On 20 August, Tasmania invited 67 applicants for subclass 190 and 26 for subclass 491. The lowest scores invited were 580 for 190 and 97 for 491.

Important: Tasmania migration has stated the number of Gold pass ROIs to decrease significantly over the coming weeks, which will allow them to issue a larger number of invitations.

Tasmania’s first round of migration invitation is coming tomorrow, 20 August!

The first invitation for this program year is expected to be issued tomorrow, followed by weekly invitation rounds throughout the program year.

Not everyone gets the opportunity to respond before their visa is refused. A common opportunity is when you receive a Section 57 Natural Justice letter.
A Section 57 letter doesn’t mean you’ve been refused. It means you’re being given an opportunity to comment on information that may affect the decision. You’ll normally be given 28 days to respond.

Sc 407 training visa nominations 81% refusal rate
approximately 6,500 nomination applications have been refused out of around 8,000 finalised since July this year. This is also a reminder that the 407 process changed in March 2026: the sponsorship and nomination must be approved before you can lodge a valid 407 visa application.

Here’s how 6–9 months of work in Tasmania may lead to PR
Tasmania has just opened its nomination program for FY 26-27. If you have worked in Tasmania in a job closely related to your skills assessment, and your occupation is listed as a TSE Priority Occupation, you may be eligible for a 190 nomination under the Tasmanian Skilled Employment Pathway after just 9 months of work (or even just 6 months if your skills assessment is for a teaching occupation or health, allied health occupation), with an average of at least 20 hours per week. Your salary must also be at least $57,000 per year or $28.85 per hour.call us on 0391110009.

⏰ Tasmania's Skilled Migration Program reopens tomorrow — 17 August.
Tomorrow, Migration Tasmania opens its Registration of Interest portal for the 2026–27 program year. This round includes 1,250 places for the Subclass 190 Skilled Nominated visa and 800 places for the Subclass 491 Skilled Work Regional visa. Places are limited and distributed across occupations.

📅 Its ROI portal opens on 17 August 2026.
