Family Day Care Australia (FDCA) would like to clarify some possible misunderstandings that may exist in relation to the government’s recent amendments to Family Assistance Law.
- The new legislative instrument addressing family day care educator’s access to family day care for their own children was introduced to parliament by the Department of Social Services and not by FDCA
- FDCA is an apolitical, not for profit national peak body
- The Department of Social Services and the State and Territory Regulatory Authorities are responsible for service and CCB approvals, compliance and enforcement activities
- FDCA has lobbied the government since late 2014 in response to this legislation to minimise the impact on the sector
Please see the image below for information about the differences between the revoked rule and the new rule and about when educators are able to access care under the new rule.
If you would like to know the facts and be fully informed about the new rule please visit http://tinyurl.com/familyassistancelaw
