As a Reggio Emilia Inspired Early Learning Centre we take every opportunity to immerse oursevles in nature. Our weekly Bush Kinder program is just one example of how we embed nature and natural resources into daily practice. Our three and four year old kinder groups love to visit the George Pentland Botanic Gardens to gather resources such as twigs, leaves, soil, seeds and flowers that can be used for art and craft. These regular excursions allow the children to not only connect with nature, but also to explore and develop knowledge of the community and the wider world.

Frankston House had the pleasure of sharing a truly beautiful afternoon as we welcomed our fabulous mums and grandparents for our Mother’s Day afternoon tea. The children were incredibly excited and proud to spend this special time with their loved ones, eagerly guiding them through the range of activities on offer.
There was something for everyone to enjoy, including “sprinkled with love” crafts, painting, measuring sunflowers, bead threading to create bracelets and key chains, and even nail painting. The sensory experiences were a highlight too, with beautifully scented playdough and imaginative play at the superhero coffee shop. Outside, the fun continued with a bug investigation station and a lively disco on the decking!
It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and confident as they explored each activity alongside their guests, before everyone came together to enjoy a bite to eat.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the afternoon so special. We hope you loved the thoughtful gifts your children made with such pride. It truly was a lovely celebration filled with joy, creativity, and special moments together.

Walk for Autism

At Frankston House Early Learning, we value community and recognise the importance of each and every individual for who they are.

Our learning programs incorporate many events and celebrations that occur throughout the year. Anzac Day is a particularly meaningful event where the children learn the significance of Anzac Day in an age-appropriate manner.

All age groups spent the week developing their knowledge of Anzac Day and the traditions that surround this important day.
The children delighted in making poppies from natural and recycled resources. With small hands, red paint, and thoughtful focus, each child brought their poppy to life in their own way.

And to finish off the week, the children worked together to make their own delicious home-made Anzac biscuits. A week spent combining meaningful moments with play and sensory based learning.

Lest We Forget.

“It takes a village to raise a child.”

Community is at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, we create meaningful connections that extend beyond the classroom.

From welcoming families into our centres for special events and celebrations, to engaging with local schools, businesses, and community organisations through our Community Connections Program, we help children build a strong sense of belonging and understanding of the world around them.

Because learning is richer when it’s shared 🤍

We understand that a child’s learning journey begins from the very start—and the early years play a vital role in shaping who they become.

Guided by the Reggio Emilia approach, our learning environments are designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning through play and exploration.

Our programs are thoughtfully tailored to each child, evolving with their interests while building essential life skills through a wide range of enrichment opportunities—from STEM and sustainability to mindfulness, music, and community engagement.

Because every child deserves the very best start 🌿

🏡 The Retreat

We had a lovely day in The Retreat, filled with creativity and imagination.
The children enjoyed exploring potion-making, mixing, pouring, and adding different ingredients to create their own special concoctions. Throughout the day, they engaged in conversations about colours and matching, using their verbal communication skills to share ideas, ask questions, and respond to one another.

These meaningful interactions supported language development, encouraged turn-taking, and helped build confidence in expressing thoughts and opinions within the group.

A highlight of the day was the children’s interest in caring for our chickens. There were many requests to bring a chicken out of their house, and we even named a couple, Coco and Buddy! 🐔

It was a day full of collaboration, curiosity, and joyful learning.

🐣 Henny Penny Program 🌱

Our children enjoyed a very special hands-on learning experience through our Henny Penny program. From watching eggs hatch into chicks to helping care for them each day, the children showed incredible curiosity, responsibility, and kindness 💛

Taking turns feeding, observing, and gently handling the chicks (along with caring for our turtle and fish) supported their understanding of life cycles while encouraging empathy and respect for living things.

It was wonderful to see all age groups, from babies to kinders, engage so thoughtfully—sharing in the excitement, discovery, and plenty of cuddles along the way 🐥✨

A truly meaningful experience that brought learning to life!

January is always filled with excitement as our team of educators and teachers prepare for another year of fun-filled learning and development opportunities. As our new families commence and our current families return from a well-earned break, we often get asked "what do I pack" for childcare or kindergarten. Here's a helpful reminder 😀.
