Special Announcement and Plot Twist for Parkside Social 2024!
Shaz is no longer able to DJ the first set for us, but you're in good hands. Loz brings enthusiasm and joie de vivre to her dancing and DJing. She has DJ'd at many local social nights and major events in Australia and Internationally. Loz is a fan of all things swing and it's her number one goal to keep your toes tapping and your fingers snapping!

Behind the mic as MC for Parkside Social, we have Kristen Barker.
As an OG Jazzy Jumper, committee member for MLX, and a regular in the Swing Dance scene since 2019, Kristen is a lover of swing dance social events.
In her line of work as a professional workshop facilitator and public speaker in the education sector, she has years of experience engaging an audience. She also knows how to get the vibes high and the dance floor pumping, having been an MC at her friends’ wedding.

🌳Second DJ Announcement for Parkside Social 2024 - Mike Healy!🌳
Mike loves Jazz and DJ-ing for dancers. He loves playing sets that bring joy, energy and a whole lot of fun on the dance floor.
Mike has been DJ-ing competitions, exchanges and events all over Australia since 2008 and his sets are chock-o-block full of classic gems, toe tappin’ favourites and some fine personal selections. As Count Basie himself once said, “If you play a tune and a person don't tap their feet, don't play that tune.”

🌳First DJ Announcement for Parkside Social 2024 - Shaz Callaghan!🌳
Shaz loves all kinds of music. She loves the kind that makes you holler, tap your feet, shimmy all over, shake what your mama gave you, or shuffle off to Buffalo. For Shaz, DJ-ing is about watching the dancers, listening to the band or other DJs, and finding the harmony amongst it all. She hopes to create an environment where people want to go up to other people and say, “I love this song, would you like to dance?!”, or be drawn onto the dance floor for some solo grooving. Shaz has been fortunate to DJ all around the country including Canberräng, Melbourne Swing Festival, Sydney Swing Festival, 1929 Studio’s Sweet & Hot, Little Big Weekend, Jumptown Jam, Jazz Bang, MLX, White Night and Hullabaloo. She is super happy to be DJ-ing at the Parkside Social – let’s dance!
