Over the years I have found that if I select three options and allow one student choice, tasks are more successful. This way students who want to do something different can. If they donโt know what to do, they are not overwhelmed with too many options.

๐ฃ๐ฒ๐น ๐ฃ๐พ๐ฎ๐ผ๐ญ๐ช๐ It is so tempting to jump on board new teacher trends. Whether it is an organisation system or new supplies. Even new professional development. I cannot tell you how many times I have jumped on board things and totally bitten off more than I could chew, wasted valuable time or found I hated things. Now, I have learnt to be more strategic in what I choose in regards to my teaching. I select small things that will make the biggest impact. Something that gives me more time, not take all of it. Tempted to try fifty new things? My advice would be to wait and still see if you are this passionate.

Reflection is a key part of improving yourself as an educator. Yet it is often the one thing we make the least time for. Teachers are their own worst critic. We know what we need and what we can improve on. Yet it is the one thing we seem to do less of. Make the time to sit down and reflect. I know that I feel better when I reflect and plan to move forward. This week, grab a coffee, sit down to record your thoughts on the week. Donโt lose your own insights. They are usually the most powerful.

๐ธ๐๐น ๐๐ป ๐ฏ๐๐๐ Today marks the end of Term 3 for teachers in Melbourne. A term at home in flexible learning. We know many of you around the world are still battling or have just started. Stay strong! Often as teachers we donโt get thanked. Today, we wanted to end our term by thanking every teacher out there. Today, someone knows how hard you work and appreciates you. Thank you teachers.
