Westgate Concert Band Westgate Concert Band is a community symphonic wind ensemble comprising woodwind, brass & percussion We rehearse Saturday mornings at Braybrook College.

Westgate Concert Band is a community symphonic wind ensemble comprising woodwind, brass & percussion. The band was formed in 1979 by Derek Humphrey and Roy Hamilton to extend young musicians in Melbourne's west by providing opportunities to perform music at an advanced level. Proudly based in Melbourne’s West, we draw upon talented musicians everywhere from Footscray, Seddon, Newport, Williamstown

, Tarneit, Hoppers Crossing to Werribee and beyond. Westgate Concert band warmly welcomes new players including school leavers wishing to continue their musical journey, adults rediscovering an instrument and experienced musicians looking for a challenge. The Band performs several times annually including formal concerts, community gigs and school outreach events

We hope you all enjoyed seeing and hearing our fabulous vocal stars, and discovering what Westgate Concert Band gets up to 'After Dark.' Westgate Concert Band is a vibrant, inclusive community ensemble based in Melbourne's west. As a symphonic woodwind, brass, and percussion group, the band welcomes musicians of all ages and abilities, fostering a nurturing environment for members to develop their skills and share the joy of music with their local community.

Westgate Concert Band is now seeking an experienced Musical Director to provide artistic leadership and guide the ensemble's musical development. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting rehearsals and performances, mentoring musicians, and collaborating with the volunteer committee to deliver an engaging program of concerts and community events (position description and KPI available on request). This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of this dedicated community band.
