What a wonderful afternoon we shared yesterday at our twice-yearly 1963 PCW lunch at the Malvernvale Hotel, celebrating our joint 80th birthdays together.

While our numbers were sadly down due to illness and other commitments, the spirit of friendship and laughter was as strong as ever. The dress code of Tiaras and Pearls certainly added plenty of sparkle to a very special occasion!

A special mention to Margaret Graham who travelled all the way from Western Australia to join us.

Sr Mary KAVANAGH pbvm OAM

Our much loved sister, Mary Kavanagh,
died peacefully on Monday 20 April 2026.
Mary was 102 years old and in her
82nd year as a Presentation Sister.

Mary was a gifted teacher, educator, principal
and leader, valued and appreciated by
her students and colleagues.
Mary's brilliant intellect and open-mindedness,
her gracious hospitality, warmth and friendliness endeared her to all.
She remained interested and caring of those around her and alert to the affairs of the world
until her final day.

We will miss Mary and give thanks for her beautiful, faith-filled and committed life, trusting she is now at peace in the heart of her God.

Mass to honour Mary's long and rich life will be celebrated at Star of the Sea College Chapel,
80 Martin Street, Brighton on Saturday 9 May 2026
at 2:00pm, with afternoon tea to follow.

Parking in Presentation Place is not available.
The Chapel can be accessed via the pedestrian gates from Martin Street or St James Close.

A decade later and the Class of 2016 is still going strong 💫

Recently, our alumnae gathered at the Railway Hotel to celebrate their 10-year reunion—an afternoon filled with laughter, memories and plenty of stories from the past ten years.

A big thank you to Kaija Melkis for sharing these wonderful moments with us, and to Stephanie Guzzardi for helping bring everyone together.

It’s always special to see friendships that started at school continue to thrive well beyond graduation. 💙
