Thank you for the love, care, patience and kindness you show our children. You create a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment where every child feels valued, supported and encouraged to be themselves. ❤️

The little things you do each day make such a big difference — the warm smiles, comforting cuddles, encouraging words, creative experiences, endless stories, messy play, songs, laughter and the countless moments where you stop, listen and truly connect with a child. 🥰

You help children build confidence, learn new skills, discover their interests and develop a love of learning. You celebrate their achievements, support them through challenges and give them the confidence to try something new. 🌱✨

🌿💛 Celebrating Wattle Day! 💛🌿

Today our Murnong children celebrated Wattle Day by exploring the beauty of one of Australia’s much-loved native plants — the beautiful wattle! 🌼🇦🇺

We introduced the children to wattle flowers, looking at pictures and real examples of the bright yellow blooms before getting creative with our own wattle-inspired artwork.

🎨🌿 Using natural materials such as leaves and pine cones, along with yellow paint and their fingers and hands, the children created their very own imaginary wattle flowers. They loved experimenting with different textures, materials, colours and patterns while using their creativity and imagination.

This experience supported:
✨ Fine-motor development and hand-eye coordination
✨ Sensory exploration
✨ Creativity and self-expression
✨ Curiosity and connection with nature
✨ Appreciation of Australian native plants and our environment

☀️ Hello Spring! 🌼
As we welcomed the warmer, sunnier days ahead, we also talked about the importance of sun safety. The children discussed why we wear our hats and use sunscreen when playing outdoors and how we can look after our skin while enjoying the sunshine.

Through our Wattle Day experience, the children celebrated a special Australian symbol while learning about nature, seasonal changes and caring for ourselves and our environment. 🌿💛☀️

🌿🔬 Science Week Adventure! 🦋🌸

As part of our Science Week celebrations, our Bubups enjoyed an exciting excursion to Skeleton Creek!

The children explored the natural environment and discovered lots of living and non-living things along the way. We spotted butterflies, ants, ladybirds, bees, Aboriginal plants, colourful flowers and many other interesting things. 🐜🐝🦋🌼

Our little explorers showed lots of curiosity as they looked closely, asked questions and shared their discoveries with educators and friends.

It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that encouraged the children to connect with nature, learn about living things and develop an appreciation for caring for our environment. 🌏💚

What a beautiful day of exploring, discovering and learning together! 🌿✨

🔬🎨 Science Week Fun – Blow Painting! 🎨🔬

What better way to explore science than getting creative! 🌈

During Science Week, the Bunjil children had so much fun exploring blow painting using straws, paper and food colouring mixed with water. They experimented with blowing the paint across the page, watching it move, spread and change direction to create unique lines, shapes and patterns. 💨🎨

The children were full of curiosity and excitement as they discovered cause and effect through hands-on experimentation. They made predictions, tried different techniques and proudly watched their colourful creations come to life! 🥰

We can’t wait to continue our investigations by exploring different colours, amounts of paint, blowing techniques, droppers, fans and different-sized straws! 🔬🌈

Science, creativity and lots of fun all in one experience! 💕✨

🌋🎨 Colourful Volcano Experiment! 🎨🌋

As part of Science Week, our Murnong enjoyed a fun and exciting colour-mixing volcano experiment!

The children first identified the primary colours — red, blue and yellow — and then explored what happened when they mixed different colours together. They created small bicarbonate soda volcanoes, added colourful vinegar and watched the bubbles and reactions. 🫧🌈

We then made volcanoes using sand, where each child had a turn to create their own colourful eruption. While waiting, the children practised turn-taking, patience and sharing. 😊

This hands-on experience encouraged the children to make predictions, explore colour mixing and discover simple science concepts while developing their creativity, fine motor skills, communication and problem-solving skills.

What a fun and colourful way to finish our Science Week! 🌈🔬🌋

🔬🥚 Science Week Egg Investigation! 🥚🔬

As part of our Science Week experiences, the Bunjil children became little scientists and explored how different liquids can affect an egg over time!

We investigated four different liquids — 💧 water, 🥤 Pepsi, ☕ coffee and 🧴 vinegar. Before starting, the children made predictions and shared their ideas about what they thought might happen to each egg.

We talked about the changes we might observe, including differences in colour, texture and appearance. The children then wondered what might happen if we left the eggs in the liquids over the weekend. 🤔

This hands-on investigation encouraged the children to develop their prediction and observation skills while exploring cause and effect and discovering that materials can change over time.

We can’t wait to see what our little scientists discover! 🧪👀✨

📚🐻 More Book Week Fun! 🐻📚

Our Barrbunin children celebrating Book Week! The children enjoyed listening to stories, looking at pictures and sharing their thoughts about the books. 📖😊

We also had lots of fun with playdough, squishing, rolling and poking as we developed our hand strength and fine motor skills. ✋✨

Later, we worked in small groups to colour two bears brown. The children practised their pencil grip, concentration and creativity while enjoying time with their friends. 🖍️🐻

It was a happy day filled with stories, play, creativity and lots of learning! ❤️📚
