3 DAY PORTRAIT PAINTING INTENSIVE - ‘From Photograph to Life Model’ with ⭐️💛⭐️
23rd - 25th June 2026 | 10.00am - 4.00pm daily
This immersive three-day workshop is designed for students who want to deepen their portrait practice through a carefully structured progression - from controlled work using photographs to the vitality and challenge of painting from life.
Each day begins with a lecture and demonstration, followed by supported studio time. The emphasis throughout is on clarity of process, confident brushwork, and developing a painter’s way of thinking.
DAY 1: STRUCTURE, COLOUR & CONTROL
- ��Colour theory specific to portrait painting
- ��Mixing and controlling flesh tones.
- ��Understanding temperature and value relationships.
- ��Building form with confident, deliberate brushwork.
DAY 2: ALLA PRIMA & DIRECT PAINTING
- ��Drawing directly with the brush
- ��Working wet-into-wet.

DAY 3: PAINTING FROM A LIFE MODEL

Join us for Date Night, a warm and welcoming adult & child workshop where you and your young artist can enjoy making something beautiful side-by-side. Each month features a fresh creative theme, sometimes inspired by a well-known artist, sometimes by animals, landscapes, or stories. Every session is hands-on, playful, and designed so both adults and children can enjoy the process equally.
All Date Night sessions run from 6.30pm – 8.00pm (1.5hrs)
You’ll explore colour, form, and imagination through simple guided steps, with plenty of room for personal expression. Parents and children can create individual artworks or combine ideas into a shared piece. No experience is needed, just curiosity, a willingness to slow down, and a desire to make something memorable together.
How it works:
Each workshop has a unique theme designed to spark creativity, introduce new techniques, and connect children to the joy of art. Themes include flowers, animals, landscapes, character-based paintings, and works inspired by beloved artists. They are chosen for their colour, playfulness, and accessibility for children and adults alike.
