Our recent excursion to Coles was a fun, exciting, and meaningful learning experience for the children at Storyhouse Mackillop Way! πβ¨
Excursions like these provide children with valuable opportunities to explore their local community, develop confidence, and build important life skills through real-world experiences. During the visit to Coles, the children enjoyed observing different foods and products, recognising familiar items, discussing healthy choices, and learning about shopping routines and everyday community roles. ππ₯¦
The excursion also encouraged communication, social interaction, problem-solving, and teamwork as the children explored the environment together with their educators. Experiences within the community help children develop a sense of belonging and a deeper understanding of the world around them while making learning engaging, practical, and enjoyable. ππ
At Storyhouse Mackillop Way, we value creating meaningful opportunities for children to connect learning with everyday experiences and build confidence through exploration and discovery. A big thank you to our educators and families for supporting these wonderful learning adventures. ππ

An engaging and inspiring staff meeting filled with learning, creativity, and collaboration! πΆβ¨
We were fortunate to have a wonderful presentation by Catherine Fleming from βHey Dee Hoo,β sharing valuable insights into the power of music and movement in early childhood learning and development. The session was interactive, fun, and full of practical ideas that educators can incorporate into everyday learning experiences to support childrenβs creativity, confidence, communication, and emotional wellbeing.
It was fantastic to see our team actively participating, sharing smiles, and embracing the joy that music brings into educational environments. Presentations like these not only strengthen our professional knowledge but also remind us of the importance of creating engaging, positive, and meaningful experiences for children every day. π΅π
A huge thank you to Catherine Fleming for delivering such an enjoyable and informative session, and to our amazing staff for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to continuous learning and growth. Together, we continue building a supportive and inspiring learning community for everyone. ππ
