Happy Educators’ Day!

Today we celebrated our wonderful educators and the incredible work they do every single day.

One of the most special parts of today was receiving the beautiful and heartfelt messages from our families. Reading your kind words, appreciation and encouragement truly meant so much to our team.

Sometimes, a simple “thank you” can mean more than you realise. Your messages reminded our educators that the love, care, patience and effort they put into each day are seen and appreciated.

To all our amazing educators , thank you for the passion, kindness, laughter and love you bring to our service. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful team!

And to our beautiful families, thank you for trusting us, supporting us and taking the time to share such meaningful words. You definitely made our Educators’ Day extra special.

Our Nursery Children’s First Park Adventure!

Our beautiful Nursery children, recently enjoyed their very first visit to the park, and it was such a special experience for our little explorers! For many of our babies, this was their first opportunity to explore a new outdoor environment beyond their usual learning space. With lots of curiosity and excitement, the children took in the sights, sounds, textures and fresh air as they experienced the park alongside their educators and friends.

The experience provided wonderful opportunities for sensory exploration and learning. The children enjoyed looking at the trees, feeling the breeze, listening to the sounds of nature and observing the world around them. Even the simplest discoveries became meaningful learning moments as the children watched, reached, touched, crawled, walked and explored at their own pace.

For our younger children, these experiences are an important part of developing confidence, physical movement, coordination and a sense of security. Our educators were there to provide reassurance, encouragement and support, allowing each child to explore according to their individual comfort and developmental stage.

It was also a beautiful opportunity to strengthen relationships and create a sense of belonging. The children shared this new experience together, enjoying the company of their friends and educators while becoming familiar with a new place in their community.

We are so proud of our little Nursery explorers for embracing their first park adventure with such curiosity and joy. These small adventures create big learning opportunities and beautiful memories that support children’s development, wellbeing and connection with the world around them.

We can’t wait for many more little adventures together!

Our Sustainability Project at Story House Mackillop Way!

At the beginning of August, our educators were given a fun challenge to create their own sustainability projects using recycled, reused or repurposed materials.

We have been so impressed with the creativity and effort our educators have put into their projects! It has been wonderful to see so many simple ideas turned into something meaningful and useful for our learning environments.

Below are the amazing sustainability projects created by our educators.

To make it even more exciting, one of our parents will be choosing the winning project, and we will announce our winner on Wednesday!

A Day Full of Science at Story House MacKillop Way!

Today, we had a wonderful and exciting science incursion with Labcoat Learning!

Our children had an amazing time exploring the world of science through fun, engaging, and hands-on experiments. They were curious, enthusiastic, and excited to discover how science works around us.

🫧 Slime Making: The children carefully mixed ingredients, observed changes in texture, and experimented with different consistencies to create their very own stretchy, squishy, and colourful slime!

✨ Magical Jars: Another highlight was creating magical jars. The children followed instructions carefully and watched in amazement as the materials came together to create a fascinating visual effect.

It was a fantastic day of exploring, experimenting, discovering, and learning through play!

“The Hundred Languages” – Book Week

As part of Book Week celebrations, the Toddler 1 staff were excited to introduce a very special book, “The Hundred Languages.”

This meaningful book reflects the children’s everyday learning experiences, with our beautiful children as the main characters.

The children were thrilled to explore the pages and see themselves and their friends featured in the story. They carefully looked at the photographs, recognised familiar faces, and shared their thoughts about who was in each picture and what they were doing.

Seeing themselves represented in a book created a wonderful sense of belonging, connection and pride. It was a beautiful opportunity for the children to revisit their experiences, connect with their friends, and celebrate their own learning journey through the pages of a book.

A truly special Book Week experience celebrating our children, their stories and the many ways they learn and express themselves.

Our rooms have been transformed into magical spaces filled with colour, creativity, and the wonderful world of books! From themed decorations and story-inspired displays to fun little details throughout the room, every corner has been designed to bring children’s favourite stories and characters to life.

Book Week is such a special time to celebrate the joy of reading, spark imagination, and encourage children to discover new adventures through books.

Our Book Week set-ups have created an exciting atmosphere where children can explore, imagine, create, and most importantly fall in love with stories!

The creativity and effort have truly made the rooms feel extra special!
