Happy National School Principal’s Day! 🏫✨
Today, we are celebrating our incredible leadership team, Mr Daxecker, Miss Zemunic and Miss West! 👏👏
A great school requires great leadership, and we are incredibly lucky to have a team that guides our community with heart, vision, and dedication every single day.
From greeting students at the gates to supporting our teachers behind the scenes, these leaders work tirelessly to make Rockbank PS a safe, inspiring, and joyful place to learn and grow.

Celebrating National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day
Today, August 4, our school proudly joins communities across Australia to celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day.
Led by SNAICC, this important national day has been running since 1988. It is a time to celebrate the strengths, talents, and rich cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children.
This year’s theme is “Living Our Truth.” It honours the power of truth-telling, the sharing of knowledge across generations, and the deep value of listening to children’s voices and stories
We invite our whole school community to join us in celebrating the next generation of leaders and recognizing that every child deserves to thrive in culture, strength, and spirit.

Hello Families,
Term 3 is shaping up to be a busy and exciting term, with many events and learning opportunities for our students! Please make sure you stay up to date by regularly checking ClassDojo and the Compass app for important information, event details, permissions and consent forms.
Here are some of the exciting events coming up this term:
📚 Book Week will be celebrated from Monday 24 August, with our annual Book Week Parade taking place on Friday 28 August at 9:00 am. Students are encouraged to dress up as their favourite book character for the parade, with prizes awarded for some of the best costumes! This year’s theme is “Book an Adventure”.
🎉 Our Foundation students will celebrate their 100 Days of School and will also participate in their Swimming and Water Safety Program.
🏃♀️ Our postponed Years 3–6 Athletics Day will be held this term. We are looking forward to seeing our students in action at Bridge Road Athletics Track after wet weather prevented the event from going ahead in Term 2.
🏕️ Our Year 5/6 students will head off to camp, while our Year 4 students will enjoy an exciting excursion to Werribee Open Range Zoo.
It’s going to be a jam-packed term filled with learning, fun and memorable experiences, please see our Important Dates attached.
We can’t wait to share it all with you!

On Friday 26 June, we will be showing our support for the Socceroos as they take on Paraguay. All classrooms will be televising the match from 12:00pm, giving students the opportunity to cheer on Australia together.
Students are invited to come dressed in green and gold or wear their favourite soccer attire for the day.
Please note that soccer or football boots are not permitted at school. Students must wear appropriate school footwear at all times.

3–6 Athletics Day – Postponed
Tomorrow’s 3–6 Athletics Day has been cancelled due to the forecast weather conditions and with a number of schools across the region postponing their athletics events.
At this stage, we do not have an alternate date confirmed; however, we anticipate the event will be rescheduled for Term 3. As soon as a new date has been finalised, we will communicate this with families as quickly as possible.
Any payments already made through Compass will remain on your child’s account and will be carried over to the rescheduled event. There is no need to make another payment once a new date has been confirmed.
We understand this may be disappointing for some of our students and families, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this late change may cause.
The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and volunteers is always our priority, and this decision has been made with that in mind.
Thank you for your understanding and ongoing support.
