During Reconciliation Week, our children across the service had been exploring and investigating the natural world while learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives through age-appropriate Dreaming stories and Indigenous symbols shared with respect. Through conversations, storytelling, nature-based experiences, and creative exploration, children have been developing an understanding of connection to Country, culture, and community.

These experiences support the EYLF Learning Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world, as they build respect for diversity, inclusion, and Australia's First Nations Peoples.

🐅🦓🦒 Journey To Africa By Lamine Sonko 🦒🦓🐅

A big thank you to Lamine Sonko for taking children on a Journey to Africa through sound and music! We explored rhythm and movement while trying out new instruments and actions. Throughout the morning the children were encouraged to participate in storytelling as they mimicked animal movements that flowed with the music they simultaneously created! The children attentively listened to Lamine, expressing enthusiasm and curiosity.
