Tomorrow is Educators’ Day, a special opportunity to celebrate and recognise the incredible educators who make a difference in the lives of our children every single day.

Our educators work tirelessly to create safe, nurturing, and engaging environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Their dedication, passion, and commitment do not go unnoticed, and we are so grateful for everything they do for our families and community.

To help us celebrate, we have placed educator appreciation shapes outside each room. We would love for families and children to take a moment to write a kind message, share a special memory, or simply say thank you to our amazing educators.

A few thoughtful words can make a big difference and help our team feel valued and appreciated for the wonderful work they do each day.

Thank you for helping us celebrate our incredible educators and for recognising the positive impact they have on the lives of our children 💛

What a fantastic week we had celebrating Book Week! 📚✨

Our children had so much fun exploring stories, dressing up as their favourite book characters, and bringing their imaginations to life through a range of exciting literacy experiences. It was wonderful to see the joy, creativity, and enthusiasm shared throughout the week as we celebrated the magic of books and storytelling.

Our educators also got right into the spirit, dressing up alongside the children and helping bring some of our favourite stories and characters to life. Their enthusiasm made the week even more memorable and fun for everyone involved!

A big thank you to all our families and educators who helped make Book Week so special. We loved seeing everyone’s amazing costumes and sharing in the excitement together.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Take another look through your What & When for Families guide to explore age-appropriate activities and learning ideas you can try together.

💛 Sometimes the best learning resource is the one you already have at home.

Today the children used their imaginations to become architects, builders and city planners as they worked together to create their very own city!

Using a variety of open-ended resources, the children designed buildings, roads, houses and different spaces within their city. They shared ideas, negotiated where things should go and worked collaboratively to bring their ideas to life.

This experience encouraged creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking while supporting the development of spatial awareness and fine motor skills. The children also explored concepts such as community, construction and how different places and people connect within a city.

It was wonderful to see the children’s imaginations take the lead as they created, experimented, shared ideas and proudly watched their city grow!

🎶 Music & Movement Incursion – The Gingerbread Man 🍪

Last week we enjoyed a wonderful music and movement incursion, bringing the much-loved story of The Gingerbread Man to life through music, movement, storytelling and imagination.

The children were invited to re-enact the story, using their bodies, voices and movements to become different characters and act out key parts of the story. They explored different rhythms, sounds, actions and movements while following along with the story.

This experience supported the children to develop their gross motor skills, coordination, balance and body awareness, while also encouraging creativity, imagination and self-expression. Through re-enacting the story, the children also developed their language and communication skills, explored sequencing and strengthened their understanding of storytelling.

The experience encouraged children to listen, follow instructions, take turns and participate together as a group, supporting their social skills, confidence and sense of belonging.

It was a fun and engaging way for the children to learn through music, movement, play and imagination 🫚
