As part of our learning during Reconciliation Week, our children explored creative experiences inspired by storytelling, symbols, patterns, and connection to Country. Through our snake painting experience, children used dots, patterns, and colour to represent movement, nature, and storytelling in a respectful and age-appropriate way.

Our kinder children explored cutting and pasting, which supports so many important learning outcomes. Through using scissors and glue, children develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and confidence. It also encourages creativity, problem-solving, and independence as they make choices and create their own masterpieces. Learning through play can often look simple, but there is so much valuable development happening behind the scenes!

The children worked together to create a rainbow with the support of their teachers. They explored the colours of the rainbow and matched each colour with its written word, supporting early literacy and colour recognition in a hands-on and engaging way.
This experience encouraged the children to develop their cognitive skills as they identified patterns, made connections between colours and words, and worked collaboratively with their peers. It was a fun and meaningful learning opportunity that supported both creativity and early learning development.

Today the children explored creativity using glue, confetti, and recycled boxes. They enjoyed decorating the box while using their imagination and sharing ideas with friends.
There was lots of communication, problem solving, and storytelling as they worked together.
Through this experience they are building creativity, fine motor skills, communication, and confidence, all through play. ✨

Today, the children participated in a paint-filled zip pouch activity focused on exploring colours. This experience supported the children’s sensory development by encouraging tactile and visual exploration. Manipulating the paint within the zip pouches helped strengthen fine motor skills and enhance hand-eye coordination.
The activity also promoted early colour recognition and language development, as educators engaged the children in discussions about the different colours. Throughout the experience, the children demonstrated curiosity, concentration, and confidence while exploring cause and effect through movement and colour mixing.
Overall, this learning experience fostered creativity, cognitive development, and positive social interactions through collaborative play

This afternoon, the children enjoyed a healthy fruit snack for afternoon tea. During the preparation of the fruit, the educators engaged with the children in a variety of fruit-themed songs, creating a fun and interactive learning environment. The educators also discussed the importance of healthy eating and how fruit helps their bodies grow strong and healthy. The children were encouraged to identify different fruits, describe their colours, and share their personal favourite.
This experience helped support the children’s awareness of healthy eating, decision-making skills, and confidence in expressing their preferences. The children demonstrated enthusiasm, effective communication skills, and an emerging understanding of how healthy foods contribute to a strong and healthy body.
