πŸŒΏπŸ‘ Our 3-Year-Old Kindergarten Adventure to Chesterfield Farm! πŸ„πŸšœ

Our 3-Year-Old Kindergarten children had an amazing day exploring all that Chesterfield Farm has to offer! It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to connect with nature, learn about farm life, and experience hands-on learning beyond the classroom.

Throughout the day, the children met a variety of friendly farm animals, enjoyed feeding and patting them, explored the beautiful farm surroundings, and discovered where some of our food comes from. They were full of curiosity, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their excitement with one another.

Excursions like these support children’s confidence, independence, and sense of belonging while fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural world. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, moments of wonder, and meaningful conversations as the children explored, discovered, and learned together.

A huge thank you to our educators for creating such a memorable experience and to our wonderful families for supporting these valuable learning opportunities.

We can’t wait to see where our next adventure takes us! πŸ’šπŸŒΎ

On Monday, our Wimbi and Marram rooms came together to celebrate the beginning of NAIDOC Week with a very special experience around the fire.

The children gathered in the yard to sit around the campfire, where they listened to beautiful Indigenous stories that celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, traditions, and connections to Country. As they listened, they enjoyed the warmth of the fire and shared in meaningful conversations together.

To make the experience even more memorable, the children cooked their own damper over the fire. They loved taking part in this hands-on activity and were so proud to enjoy the delicious damper they had helped prepare.

It was a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect, and reflect as we begin celebrating NAIDOC Week. We look forward to continuing to explore and honour the rich histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples throughout the week.

🌿 Our New Toddler Wellbeing Walk Has Begun! 🌿

Yesterday we introduced our new Toddler Wellbeing Walk to the playground, and what a wonderful start it was! Our Toddlers had an amazing time exploring, moving their bodies, and enjoying the fresh air together.

There were lots of smiles, laughter, and excitement as they climbed, slid down the slide, and enjoyed taking turns on the swings. The best part was hearing them enthusiastically chat about their adventures when we returned, eagerly sharing stories about the slide and the swings with their educators and friends.

Our wellbeing walks are a fantastic opportunity to encourage physical activity, build confidence, develop social skills, and connect with the outdoors. We can't wait for many more happy adventures together! πŸ’šπŸ›πŸŒž

Our wonderful Nursery team has thoughtfully created a beautiful yarning circle-inspired space on their balcony to celebrate NAIDOC Week.

This special area provides a welcoming place for our youngest learners to gather, connect, listen, share stories, and build a sense of belonging. Inspired by the tradition of yarning circles, the space encourages respectful conversations, curiosity, and meaningful connections while recognising and celebrating the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Throughout the week, our children will explore Indigenous stories, music, art, and experiences in this inviting environment, fostering respect, understanding, and appreciation from an early age.

We are proud to celebrate NAIDOC Week and continue learning together as we acknowledge the world's oldest continuing cultures.

πŸ’™β„οΈ Big Freeze Challenge 2026 β„οΈπŸ’™

What an incredible afternoon we had today at Nido Montrose as six of our brave educators took part in the Big Freeze Challenge and were dunked with icy cold water to help raise awareness for Motor Neurone Disease (MND)!

There were plenty of laughs, lots of excitement, and a few very chilly teachers, all for an important cause that touches the lives of many Australians.

Thanks to the generosity of our wonderful families and community, we raised over $200 to support MND awareness and research. We are so grateful for everyone’s support and enthusiasm throughout the day.

A huge thank you to our educators for being such great sports and to all the children and families who joined in the fun and cheered them on. It was a fantastic opportunity to come together as a community while supporting a meaningful cause.

πŸ’™ Together, we made a difference and had a lot of fun doing it! πŸ’™

This morning, the Wimbi children enjoyed a wonderful visit to Mercy Place, where they joined residents for a creative playdough experience.

Using their hands to mould, shape, and create, the children and residents worked side by side, sharing ideas and conversations. One special moment was when a child carefully copied a cat that a resident had made, showing both admiration and attention to detail.

The experience encouraged collaboration, creativity, and meaningful connections between generations. It was lovely to see the children and residents working together, learning from one another, and enjoying each other's company through play.

Thank you to the residents and staff at Mercy Place for another warm and welcoming visit. We look forward to creating more special memories together.

Our recent Chinos and Chats outing with the residents of Mercy Place was filled with wonderful conversations, laughter, and connection.

We began our visit at Hahndorf Chocolate Shop in Montrose, where everyone ordered their favourite coffees and baby chinos before settling in for a lovely chat. Residents and children enjoyed sharing stories about what they had been up to, with plenty of opportunities to connect through conversation. We encouraged the children to engage with our residents by asking questions such as, "Maybe you could share with the residents what you did on the weekend?" These simple moments sparked meaningful discussions and brought smiles to everyone's faces.

After enjoying our drinks and conversations, we moved outside to the garden area for a gentle stroll and some fresh air. It was the perfect way to finish a beautiful morning together before saying goodbye to our lovely residents.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. We are already excited about bringing together our next group and creating more wonderful memories! πŸ’•

Our Wimbi's have been busy exploring the wonderful world of butterflies through our current inquiry project πŸ¦‹

This inquiry began during Community Kinder when a child picked up a snail and confidently shared that it would turn into a butterfly. This sparked lots of curiosity, questions, and conversations among the children about how animals grow and change.

To extend their learning, the children explored the story The Very Hungry Caterpillar and discussed the life cycle of a butterfly. They have been sharing their ideas, observations, and wonderings as they learn about each stage of the butterfly’s journey.

We are now extending this inquiry further by providing a butterfly life cycle board for the children to explore through hands-on learning experiences, discussion, and play. It has been wonderful to see the children so engaged, curious, and excited to discover more about the natural world around them πŸŒ±πŸ›πŸ¦‹
