RMIT University in partnership with The Wheeler Centre presents acclaimed cook, writer and broadcaster Adam Liaw in conversation with Benjamin Law.

Liaw will reflect on the years of travel and research behind the book, his prolific career and the role food plays in shaping family, identity and belonging.

Following his triumphant MasterChef Australia win in 2010, Adam Liaw has become one of the country’s most trusted and engaging voices on food. Across television, books and journalism, he has championed an approach to cooking that is practical, nourishing and grounded in culture.

In Asian Home Cooking, Liaw turns his attention to everyday meals from around the titular continent. Featuring more than 200 recipes, the book travels from Japanese staples and Vietnamese soups to South Indian sambars and the noodles of China, placing each dish within its important cultural and domestic context.

Presented by RMIT University in partnership with The Wheeler Centre.

Thinking about an MBA, but wondering where it could take your career? 🎓

For RMIT alum Carmen Barry, studying a Master of Business Administration helped her expand beyond her nursing background, build broader business skills and open up new possibilities for career progression.

From marketing and consulting to financial and data analytics, Carmen developed transferable skills she now uses as Director of Clinical Operations in Surgical Services at the Royal Children’s Hospital.

Her advice for anyone considering postgraduate study?

“It’s such a cliché, but just go for it. It's just about backing yourself to go, ‘this might be a little bit hard, but I'm going to do it anyway’.

After studying a Bachelor of Communication Design at RMIT, Abi launched her own business, helping clients bring their creative visions to life, from branding and design to capturing authentic moments behind the camera.

We asked Abi about her journey as a business owner, where she finds inspiration, the lessons she’s learned along the way, and the advice she’d give herself when first starting out.

Founded in 2004, Revolution Personal Training is a South Melbourne strength and conditioning studio delivering evidence-based coaching.
