📢 What to do if you receive Standard Not Achieved for your LANTITE Test Results.

1️⃣ The rules have changed.

Remember that, as of 2025, the cap on attempts has been removed. A "Standard Not Achieved" result is no longer a strike against a limit—it’s just data. It tells us what to work on, not if you can be a teacher.

2️⃣ Feedback is better now.

If you don't get the result you wanted, the new feedback reports are more detailed than they used to be. You can use this to pinpoint exactly where you didn't quite reach the standard.

3️⃣ A result doesn't define you.

This test measures a specific set of skills under pressure. It doesn't measure your empathy, your classroom teaching and management or your passion for teaching.

📋Here is your 4-step checklist if you receive an unsuccessful result (Standard Not Achieved):

1.👐 Be kind on yourself.

Getting a unsatisfactory results sucks.

To begin with, just acknowledge the result, be kind to yourself and step away from the screen.

2. Download the Detailed Feedback. 📄

📑 Highlight the areas where you struggled. Was it the 'Technical Skills of Writing' section? Was it 'Statistics'?

3. Analyse the "Why". 🧠🤔

Ask yourself honest questions:

📚Content: Did I actually not know the Maths or grammar rules?

🕖Time: Did I run out of time?

😟Nerves: Did I panic and freeze?

❗️Note: If it was anxiety, stress or time management issues, studying more maths won't fix it—you need exam-taking strategies.

❌️ Studying the same way you did for the last test will likely get you the same result. You need to change your method. That's where we can help.

The ISLPR Reading test is unique because it isn't a "multiple choice" exam. It’s an interactive conversation where you demonstrate that you can navigate real-world texts—such as news articles, curriculum documents or professional newsletters—and explain them, coherently and professionally, to your examiner.

🕵‍♀️🕵‍♂️ Decoding the ISLPR Reading Test

The Reading module is a conversation, not just a comprehension test! 📖💬

In the ISLPR Reading module, you aren't just looking for "Answer A or B." You are proving to an examiner that you can engage with authentic Australian texts and explain their meaning, nuance and purpose.

For teachers, this often means reading curriculum materials or school community information. Here is how to master the "Interaction":

✅ The DOs:

* Show, Don't Just Tell: Use your own words to explain the text. If you just read the words off the page, the examiner can't verify that you actually understand them.

* Use the Tools:

You are allowed to use highlighters and take notes! Use them to map out different opinions or key "signpost" words such as “however” or “consequently.”

* Read the "Unwritten":

Be ready to make inferences. If an editorial uses an attacking tone or a notice is urgent, make sure your explanation reflects that "vibe."

❌ The DON’Ts:

* Don't ignore the layout:

Headlines, photos and even font sizes are clues! They tell you what the author thinks is most important.

* Don't forget the context:

Always ask yourself this question: "Who wrote this and whom are they trying to influence?"

* Don't rush:

The time allowed is flexible. It’s better to read deeply and be ready for a thorough discussion than to skim and miss the nuance.

The wait is almost over! Results for the May LANTITE window are expected to be released the week ending June 12th.

We know the "result-wait anxiety" is real, but remember: the number on that screen doesn't define your worth as a teacher—it’s just a marker on your journey to mastery.

Remember, if you're waiting for your LANTITE Test results, make sure you're taking that much-needed break. Don't keep studying and hope for the best (a pass).

How to Stay Well & Motivated This Winter 🧣✨

Staying motivated when it’s dark at 6:00 PM is hard! Here is how to keep your "academic fire" burning:

* The 10-Minute Movement Rule: Don't let your body stiffen up in the cold. Whether it’s a quick brisk walk or some gentle stretching, movement clears the "brain fog" that winter study can bring. (Plus, it helps manage that cortisol we talk so much about!)

* Warm Your Gut, Calm Your Mind: Swap the icy drinks for herbal teas and warm, slow-cooked meals. A happy gut equals a focused brain. 🍵

* Study in "Light Pockets": Try to get 15 minutes of natural sunlight during the day. It resets your circadian rhythm and keeps your mood stable while you tackle those complex ISLPR writing tasks or Numeracy equations.

* Set "Micro-Goals": Instead of saying, "I'll study for 3 hours," say, "I'll complete 5 pages of my LANTITE Study Booklet." Small wins provide the dopamine hit you need to stay warm and motivated.
