Through this experience, children are encouraged to identify and name farm animals, explore their sounds and features, develop language and communication skills, and use their imagination through pretend play.

💦🔢 Learning Through Water Play in Our Toddler Room! 🔢💦

Water play is always a favourite experience for our toddlers—and it is also full of wonderful learning opportunities!

As children scoop, pour, fill and empty different containers, they are developing important early mathematical concepts such as numbers, counting, measuring, size, quantity and volume. They are also learning about concepts like full and empty, more and less, heavy and light, while exploring and experimenting through play.

Water play also supports children's fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, language development, problem-solving skills and social interactions as they play alongside their friends.

At Goodstart Carrum Downs – Arcadia Street, we believe children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences that encourage curiosity, exploration and discovery.

📚✨ It’s Book Week at Goodstart Carrum Downs – Arcadia Street! ✨📚

What a wonderful week we’ve had celebrating the magic of books, storytelling and imagination with our children! 💕📖

Throughout the week, our children have been exploring their favourite stories, listening to engaging story readings, dressing up as special characters and using their imaginations to bring books to life through play and learning. 🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️🧚‍♀️🐻

A very special thank you to all our wonderful families who joined us during Book Week! 💛 We loved welcoming you into our centre to share a favourite book and read stories with our children. Your involvement made the experience extra special and helped create a strong connection between home, family and our learning community. 📚🥰

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.
