Across schools, leaders and wellbeing coordinators are sharing a common story, one where staff feel more confident, students feel more supported, and wellbeing is becoming part of the culture, not just a conversation. That’s the impact of Living Ripples.

Peer support is one of the most underestimated forces in building student wellbeing.

When students feel connected and supported by their peers, their resilience and confidence grow stronger every day.

At Living Ripples, schools report that fostering peer networks has led to noticeable improvements in student engagement and overall wellbeing.

Where student voice leads the way.

At Upper Yarra Secondary College, wellbeing isn’t a one-off initiative, it’s embedded in everyday learning. Through Living Ripples, data turns into action, and action into real impact for students, staff and families.

“It was very telling,” staff reflected. “The information was simple to read and immediately useful.”

When Catholic Regional College Sydenham partnered with Living Ripples through Brimbank City Council, the goal was simple: make student insights count.

Using the Resilience Survey, the school identified lower engagement among senior students and declining extracurricular participation.

Instead of broad wellbeing initiatives, they redesigned pastoral care and introduced new extracurricular sessions shaped directly by student feedback.

Because the right data doesn’t just inform schools, it helps them act.

Corrimal East Public School is living its motto: a small school making a big difference

With wellbeing at the centre of everything they do, the school is using student voice and real data to guide action. From peer-led support groups that build friendships and resilience, to the Year 5 Girls Pod creating a safe, positive space to start the week, the impact is already showing.

As Assistant Principal Joseph Dawson puts it, prioritising wellbeing means “bringing the best out in our students” and it’s happening in real time, with healthy minds on the rise.

Grounded in evidence, strengthened through collaboration with Living Ripples and the University of Adelaide’s WiLDlab, Corrimal East is showing what’s possible when schools listen, act, and grow together.

Berry Public School, on the south coast of NSW, was the first school in Australia to take part in the Living Ripples process.

What drew Berry in was simple but powerful: a whole-school approach that engages the entire community, uses real-time data, and aligns deeply with the school’s long-standing commitment to student wellbeing.

From the start, Living Ripples was seen as an opportunity to innovate and strengthen the school’s wellbeing ecosystem.

Families play an essential role in supporting student mental health — but knowing how to help can be confusing.

Practical ways to engage families include:
• Sharing clear, simple information about mental health and resilience
• Inviting families to school wellbeing events and workshops
• Encouraging open conversations between students, parents, and teachers
• Using data insights to highlight student needs and progress
• Creating opportunities for families to contribute ideas and support

When families feel involved and informed, students experience stronger support both at home and school. It's a partnership that builds resilience and wellbeing across the whole community.

How does your school bring families into the conversation about student mental health?
