We had an exciting incursion today! In the past few weeks, the children have shown an interest in being firefighters. So, it was super exciting when four firefighters visited us and provided a valuable learning experience for the children. They shared insights into their important job, showcased their uniforms, and even brought along their impressive fire truck. The firefighters emphasised the significance of informing an adult when encountering a fire and the importance of never touching or going near it. Our little ones had a fantastic opportunity to explore the fire truck, where they learned about its various features. It was an engaging and educational day that allowed our children to develop a greater understanding of fire safety.

Today, we took a moment to honor National Sorry Day. It was a day filled with heartfelt discussions, beautiful reflections, and a shared commitment to creating a better future for all.
Our little learners embarked on a journey of understanding, exploring the significance of Sorry Day and its connection to the Stolen Generations. Together, we dived into the pages of the captivating book 'Somebody's Land' by Adam Goodes.
In the spirit of learning and empathy, we also listened to the poignant song 'Took the Children Away', which served as a powerful reminder of the hardships endured by the Stolen Generations. π΅π
But our children didn't stop there! They showed immense compassion and eagerness to make a positive impact. Through their creative expressions, they brainstormed ways to apologise and express their heartfelt sorry to those taken from their families, their communities, their land and their culture. π
Today, we learned that sorry isn't just a wordβit's a commitment to change, to grow, and to foster a more inclusive and compassionate society.
