As we move into the holiday season, it’s a time filled with excitement, celebration, and reflection. For many Right Choice educators, this period also brings a mix of emotions as we prepare to say goodbye to children who are moving on to new adventures.

Watching them grow, learn, and flourish throughout the year creates a bond that is truly special. So when it’s time for them to leave the service, it’s natural for educators to feel a little low. These goodbyes aren’t easy — they carry memories, laughter, and moments that stay with us long after the children have moved on.

To all educators feeling the weight of these transitions: your care, dedication, and heart have made a lasting impact. It’s okay to feel sentimental. It simply reflects how deeply you value the relationships you’ve built.

Child safety is the first objective of NQF.

Changes to the NQF starting from 1 September 2025

From 1 September 2025, important regulatory changes to keep children safe will come into effect for providers and their services. The new requirements relate to:

- policies and procedures about safe use of digital technologies (including CCTV)
- notifying within 24 hours to report incidents or allegations of physical or sexual abuse
- ensuring service environments are free from va**ng substances and va**ng devices

From 1 January 2026, refinements to the National Quality Standard will sharpen the focus on child safety in Quality Areas 2 and 7.
