We are proud to have been recognised as a finalist for Franchisor of the Year (Under 25 Units) at the 2026 Franchise Industry Awards.

While we did not take home the award this year, being shortlisted alongside other outstanding franchise networks is a wonderful acknowledgement of the work being done across our Kool Kidz community.

Thank you to our Approved Providers, Service Managers, Educators and Support Office team for everything you do to support children and families each day.

Today, we remember a much-loved member of the Kool Kidz family.

For nine years, Jemma brought joy, warmth and care to the children, families and colleagues who knew her. Her vibrant personality and enthusiasm made a lasting impact on her centre, her local community and beyond.

We are deeply saddened by her sudden passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends and peers. She will be greatly missed.

Today, on World Franchise Day, we're celebrating the power of franchising and the people behind it.

For Kool Kidz Childcare, our journey began more than 30 years ago when founders Phillip and Sylvia Hortis opened their first early learning service in Rowville, Victoria. What started as a single family-owned childcare centre was built on a simple belief: children deserve the highest quality care and education, delivered by passionate people who are genuinely invested in their community.

Over the years, that commitment to quality never changed. In fact, it inspired the development of Australia's first family-owned and operated childcare franchise model; a model built on the belief that children, families and educators thrive when services are led by dedicated owner-operators who are present, engaged and accountable.

Today, we're proud to continue that legacy across our growing network of Kool Kidz services, supporting children and families through quality early education and care, while empowering local business owners to make a meaningful difference in their communities.

This year is particularly special as we proudly joined the Franchise Council of Australia, further strengthening our commitment to excellence, collaboration and best practice in franchising.

On World Franchise Day, we thank our franchise partners, centre teams, support office staff, families and communities. Your passion and dedication are what make Kool Kidz what it is today.

Hosted by the Franchise Council of Australia, the awards will be held in Brisbane this June—and we couldn’t be prouder to be recognised alongside some incredible names in the industry.

This achievement is a reflection of our amazing community—our passionate Approved Providers, dedicated educators, and supportive families who bring the Kool Kidz vision to life every single day.
