Today, on World Franchise Day, we're celebrating the power of franchising and the people behind it.

For Kool Kidz Childcare, our journey began more than 30 years ago when founders Phillip and Sylvia Hortis opened their first early learning service in Rowville, Victoria. What started as a single family-owned childcare centre was built on a simple belief: children deserve the highest quality care and education, delivered by passionate people who are genuinely invested in their community.

Over the years, that commitment to quality never changed. In fact, it inspired the development of Australia's first family-owned and operated childcare franchise model; a model built on the belief that children, families and educators thrive when services are led by dedicated owner-operators who are present, engaged and accountable.

Today, we're proud to continue that legacy across our growing network of Kool Kidz services, supporting children and families through quality early education and care, while empowering local business owners to make a meaningful difference in their communities.

This year is particularly special as we proudly joined the Franchise Council of Australia, further strengthening our commitment to excellence, collaboration and best practice in franchising.

On World Franchise Day, we thank our franchise partners, centre teams, support office staff, families and communities. Your passion and dedication are what make Kool Kidz what it is today.
