🌏✈️ KINDER EXPLORERS: AROUND THE WORLD! ✈️🌏

Our Kinder children have been setting off on an exciting journey around the world as they explore countries and continents!

Through hands-on learning and imaginative play, the children have been making connections between different countries and discovering that people around the world may speak different languages, enjoy different foods, celebrate different traditions, and have unique and wonderful ways of life.

To bring their learning to life, our Kinder room transformed into an airport. The children designed their very own passports, checked in for their adventures and imagined travelling to different destinations around the globe.

This experience encourages curiosity, respect and an appreciation for the diverse world we live in, while supporting communication, creativity, social skills and a sense of belonging.

🌋🔬 SCIENCE WEEK AT PICO! 🧪

What an exciting week of exploring, experimenting and discovering at PICO! Our little scientists have been busy getting hands-on with science through fun experiments including Magic Milk, Lava Lamps, Moon Rocks, potions, magnets and a spectacular Lemon Volcano eruption!

A special highlight was welcoming one of our PICO parents, who is a geologist, to share their knowledge with the children. The children enjoyed a volcano experiment and had the amazing opportunity to see real volcanic rocks and other geological items up close!

Science Week encourages children to ask questions, make predictions, problem-solve and discover how the world around them works. These hands-on experiences build curiosity, creativity and critical thinking — all while having lots of fun! 💡

What a wonderful week of imagination, stories and dress-ups at PICO! 📖

Our little book lovers have been getting into the Book Week spirit by dressing up as their favourite book characters, sharing stories with their friends and bringing their favourite books to life through play and creativity! 🧚‍♀️🦸‍♂️🐻👑

From magical characters to much-loved storybook heroes, we’ve loved seeing everyone’s amazing costumes and the excitement that books can bring. 🌈📚

🐠🌊 Our Kinder children had an unforgettable day exploring our local aquarium! 🚌

The adventure began with an exciting bus ride before our little explorers discovered a fascinating underwater world filled with colourful fish, incredible sea creatures, and amazing marine life. One of the highlights was the hands-on touch experience, where the children had the opportunity to safely feel some of the sea creatures while learning all about them.

At PICO, we believe learning extends beyond the classroom. Regular excursions provide meaningful, real-world experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting memories.

A big thank you to the wonderful team at the aquarium for having us and providing such an engaging and memorable experience. We can’t wait for our next adventure! 🌟

🦋 Butterfly Adventures at PICO! 🦋

Children at Pico Early Learning recently enjoyed a magical Butterfly Adventures incursion, where they stepped into a butterfly enclosure and experienced the wonder of meeting real butterflies up close!

Throughout the experience, the children discovered the incredible butterfly life cycle, learning all about eggs, caterpillars, chrysalises, and butterflies. They explored the importance of caring for our natural environment while practising gentle hands and showing kindness and respect when interacting with these delicate creatures.

The learning continued through creative experiences, with the children designing their own beautiful butterflies and enjoying imaginative play by dressing up as butterflies and caterpillars.

At PICO, we believe children learn best through meaningful, hands-on experiences. That’s why, throughout the year, our children are fortunate to enjoy a variety of engaging incursions and excursions that extend their learning beyond the classroom, spark curiosity, build confidence, and create lasting memories.

Another wonderful Christmas in July celebration is done and dusted! ❤️🎄

Last week we took the opportunity to step away from the busy days, put down the paperwork, and simply enjoy an evening together.

These nights are so much more than just a dinner. They’re a chance to celebrate the incredible people who make Pico what it is, reflect on everything we’ve achieved over the first half of the year, share plenty of laughs, and remind ourselves how lucky we are to work alongside such a caring and passionate team.

To every member of our Pico family – thank you. Thank you for the love, patience, dedication and commitment you show our children, families and each other every single day. We know the work you do isn’t always easy, but it truly makes a lifelong difference.

Here’s to an amazing first half of 2026 and an even bigger and brighter second half. We can’t wait to see what we achieve together.
