Book Week at The Grove | The Rainbow Fish

Book Week brought a splash of colour, creativity and teamwork to The Grove! 🌈✨

Inspired by the much-loved story The Rainbow Fish, our whole team came together to create this incredible Rainbow Fish experience for the children — celebrating the story’s beautiful messages of sharing, kindness, friendship and belonging.

Experiences like these are a wonderful reminder that stories can extend far beyond the pages of a book, inspiring connection, imagination and shared learning across our whole community.

Happy Early Childhood Educators’ Day!

Today we celebrate the incredible educators who make The Grove such a special place for our children and families.

For every little breakthrough, every moment of comfort, every new discovery and every growing connection, there is an educator behind it — encouraging, nurturing, believing and inspiring. ❤️

We are so grateful for the passion, patience, creativity and heart our educators bring each and every day.

To our wonderful Grove team — thank you for everything you do and for the difference you make in the lives of children.

Happy Educators’ Day! 💛

Did you spot all the crayons around the centre today? 🖍️🌈

Our team brought Book Week to life by dressing up as the colourful crayons inspired by The Day the Crayons Quit series by Drew Daywalt and Oliver Jeffers! A wonderful way to celebrate storytelling, creativity and a little bit of Book Week fun together. 📚✨

“The important thing is not to stop questioning.” — Albert Einstein

This National Science Week, our children at The Grove are following their curiosity — exploring, experimenting, investigating and discovering through hands-on play. 🧪✨

Every question is an opportunity to learn, and every discovery inspires another. 💚

SeeMore Safety Visits The Grove! 💛 KIDS Foundation

Last week, our children enjoyed a special visit from SeeMore Safety, learning all about the safe and trusted people in their lives.

Through a story, outdoor scavenger hunt and drawing experience, the children explored who they can turn to for help and what makes someone feel safe.

Such an important message delivered through lots of fun, conversation and play!

Jeans for Genes Day at The Grove 💙👖

Today, our Grove community proudly wore their favourite denim to support Jeans for Genes Day!

Every pair of jeans worn today represents hope for children and families affected by genetic conditions. Together, we’re helping to raise awareness and contribute to life-changing research that has the potential to improve and save lives.💙

DID YOU KNOW?

At The Grove Children's Centre, we're committed to continually growing our practice to provide the very best outcomes for children.

We're excited to be partnering with the SEED Program—an evidence-based initiative developed through research by Monash University and bestchance—to further strengthen how we support children's social and emotional development.

This partnership will provide our educators with additional research-backed strategies to nurture emotional regulation, build positive relationships, and create inclusive learning environments where every child feels safe, valued and supported to thrive.

By embracing innovative, evidence-informed practice, we're investing not only in our educators but in every child's future.

Introducing P.A.I.R. – Parent Assisted Immersive Reading ✨📚

We know that some of the most meaningful learning happens when children and families learn together.

This Term 3 and 4, we're excited to launch our P.A.I.R. Program for our 3 and 4-Year-Old Kindergarten children—an opportunity for parents, carers and special family members to step into our learning environment and become part of their child's literacy journey.

Together, you'll enjoy small-group reading experiences designed to build confidence, language and a lifelong love of books.

What's included?
📖 Personalised book bags for every participating child
🎲 Literacy and activity cards to continue the learning at home
📚 A carefully selected range of levelled readers
❤️ Shared reading experiences between home and kindergarten
🌱 A stronger connection between families, educators and children

Our goal is simple—to nurture confident, capable readers while creating beautiful memories that children will carry with them long after they leave kindergarten.

Because when children see the important people in their lives reading, asking questions and enjoying stories, they discover that reading isn't just something we learn… it's something we share.

We can't wait to welcome our families into this special program throughout Terms 3 and 4. Speak with your child's educators to find out how you can be involved!
