I am forever grateful for Edwina & Jodie at Eastland for gifting me this GIANT gratitude garden after hosting me for a public Language of Friendship parent-child workshop for their community in Maroondah, Victoria! The beautiful notes from kids & parents meant the world to me and this gorgeous gift is now in my office in Canada. 🥰

Forgiveness can be a tricky one...because forgiving someone doesn’t mean what they did was okay.

In Friendology, we teach kids how to put out their Friendship Fires 🔥 by using our step-by-step approach to Talk-it-Out. When they’ve shared their feelings, listened, repaired the hurt, and put that Fire ALL THE WAY OUT, they can move along the Friend-o-Cycle to Forgive & Forget. 💕

Forgiveness is about trusting the repair process and feeling safe to move forward in the friendship.

And, as the beloved Dolly Parton reminded us: “Storms make trees take deeper roots.” 🌳💛 Those tricky friendship moments - when handled well - can actually make friendships stronger.

Dolly’s generosity knew no bounds… and she loved children! 💕 Her Imagination Library program, inspired by her father who couldn’t read, has put books in the hands of 300 million children around the world. She launched a high school scholarship program, covered tuition & books for any of her employees who wanted to further their education, and donated more than $100 million throughout her lifetime. 💎 👏

She is a true inspiration & an amazing example of how to use your platform for good. Thank you for everything you’ve done, Dolly! 💓🌸💕

A little full-circle moment as we say goodbye to The Social after 13 incredible years on CTV. 🇨🇦💕

Back in November 2013, just weeks after The Social first went to air, I had the incredible opportunity to sit on that couch & share the work we were doing in schools… back when Friendology was called GirlPower! 🥹 It was truly one of the highlights of my career.

Melissa Grelo & Jess Allen attended my Language of Friendship workshop at The Bishop Strachan School, where they learned our friendship skills firsthand…including practising their Quick Comebacks! 💪 I also sold signed copies of The Friendship Project, a workbook I wrote for tween girls + parents.

A few memories from that day that still make me smile…

✨ I was SO nervous & ridiculously stressed about what to wear. Classic! 😂

✨My baby girl, Ruby, was in the green room with her grandma while I was on set. 🥰

✨ While I was getting my hair & makeup done, a producer came into the green room to let me know that Lainey (known as the “gossip queen”) had strict orders that I was NOT allowed to speak negatively about gossip. 😳😂

✨ The hosts & staff were all incredibly sweet and made me feel right at home. 🤗

I was so grateful for the opportunity to talk about something I believe in deeply: kids need to be explicitly taught the skills to navigate friendship. 13 years later, GirlPower has evolved into Friendology, reaching millions of kids - a curriculum taught in schools around the world. 🌎💕💫

As The Social wraps up this chapter & transitions to its new video podcast format, I just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for giving me that platform so early in our journey & for giving friendship education a place on daytime television. I’ll never forget it. 🥰🤗 (The last pic is with my Mom when I took her to a show for Mother’s Day just last year! 🌸)

Australia has a new National Framework for Addressing Bullying in Schools...and Friendology Schools, you’re already doing it! 🙌

We’re SO excited to see the new National Framework emphasising many of the things Friendology Schools have been putting into practice for years!

In fact, Friendology Schools get access to our 28-page, fully-customisable Bullying Prevention Framework - designed to help schools prevent & respond to “bullying” and other harmful behaviours while creating a culture of kindness & respect.

And we’ve seen some incredible examples of schools bringing this to life, including Immanuel College in QLD - who generously let us share their draft with our schools! 👏💛

Our customisable Framework includes:

💛 A consistent, whole-school approach so educators and families speak the same language
💛 Proactive teaching of healthy relationship & conflict-resolution skills
💛 Detailed action plans for Mean-on-Purpose behaviour, including support for the students impacted and bystanders
💛 A Mean-on-Purpose Tracker to document incidents and identify patterns
💛 Reflection sheets to support debriefing and de-escalation
💛 An anonymous reporting tool, recognising our research that older students are less likely to report harmful behaviour
💛 A fully customisable plan schools can adapt to their own context, policies and procedures

The new National Framework calls for all the things our Friendology Schools are already doing! We’re incredibly proud to see our schools leading the way!
