Congratulations to the inaugural recipients of the Ivanhoe Girls’ Old Grammarians’ Association (IGOGA) Fellowship, Mia Koufalas (Class of 2021) and Lilian Xu (Class of 2018).

Established to support Ivanhoe Girls' alumni developing social enterprises and community impact initiatives, the IGOGA Fellowship recognises graduates who are creating meaningful social, environmental and community change.

Through her circular economy start-up LUDIS, Lilian is transforming used tennis balls into sustainable shoe sole materials, helping tackle waste through innovation and environmental leadership.

Mia's project is focused on improving healthcare outcomes in Sri Lanka through medical resource support, hand hygiene initiatives, cataract surgery assistance and healthcare education for vulnerable communities.

We'll be following Mia and Lilian over the course of their Fellowship year and sharing updates about their work.

Together, Mia and Lilian embody the courage, connectedness and commitment to service, which was fostered during their time at Ivanhoe Girls', demonstrating how our alumni continue to make a positive impact both locally and globally. 💙

A different kind of Senior School Assembly yesterday, as our Year 12 Prefect Team took the lead. 👏

Each year, our Year 12 cohort adopts a theme that reflects the values and aspirations they hope to champion. This year's theme, 'Here to Be Heard' was brought to life as our Prefects shared what it means to them.

From finding the confidence to use their voice, to listening with respect and empathy when others speak, their message was clear: every voice matters.

A powerful reflection of our belief that 💙

Happy Cooerwull Day! 🎂
Yesterday, we celebrated 123 years of Ivanhoe Girls' on our school's birthday - Cooerwull Day.

Derived from an Indigenous word meaning 'little seed or plant', Cooerwull is a fitting reminder of how Ivanhoe Girls' began as a small seed and has grown into the vibrant, welcoming and thriving community we know today.

To mark this special milestone, staff and students enjoyed a slice of birthday cake or a cupcake as we celebrated 123 years of learning, friendship and achievements.

In the Junior School Assembly, we celebrated student birthdays and heard from our Year 3 students as they shared some of their recent learning experiences.

Meanwhile, in the Senior School Assembly, we welcomed alumni Lili Xu (Class of 2018), who shared the inspiring story behind her brand LUDIS, which transforms used tennis balls into new shoes. After singing Happy Birthday and cutting the school cake, students put their Ivanhoe Girls' knowledge to the test in a Kahoot quiz packed with school history and fun facts - with 7NR taking out the win! 🏆Students then enjoyed a cupcake and continued celebrations throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Cooerwull Day 2026 so special! 💙

Today, our Prep learners celebrated their 100th day of school! 🌟

Dressed in bright colours for our 100 Days Brighter theme, everyone enjoyed a day of fun and learning, from sharing collections of 100 items and taking part in maths challenges, to creating bookmarks with their Year 3 buddies, making fairy bread and welcoming a special visit from Zero the Hero.

Filled with curiosity, teamwork and plenty of smiles, the day was a wonderful opportunity to reflect on how much has been learned and achieved over their first 100 days of school. We are so proud of all that our Preps have accomplished! 💙
